What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“JUNKPUNK is a huge project, it's going to take some time to get it to its full potential but we feel there's already hours of great fun that we want users to enjoy. So we want to allow players to enjoy this experience as we work on bringing more to the game. We want to also take into account user feedback whilst we develop the game and get it out of Early Access. We feel that having a community driven development on larger projects is really beneficial for the final game.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Ideally we would like Junkpunk to be finished within 2 years from launching in Early Access depending on its success. It's hard to say but 2 years is the general goal.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The early access version of Junkpunk will have a complete game experience where you can transform the planet, explore everywhere and have a much deeper lore and gameplay experience. RIght now theres hours of fun to be had building bases, collecting items, exploring the world but we want to expand on this massively over time.

We are planning to at least add the following.

  • Real time growing and changing worlds dependent on the level of pollution
  • More machines, resources and equipment
  • A deeper storyline that explains the wider universe
  • Achievements
  • Different Races
  • Vehicles
  • A wider range of building parts and crafting systems

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current state of JUNKPUNK allows the player to completely change the planets atmosphere after exploring, building, and manufacturing to change the planets first stage.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We expect the price to increase over time as development matures. The Early Access price is a way to help get in early and support us on our journey to full release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We always want a tonne of feedback from the community, we love feedback community because the community loves to play our games and invest time in them, we want the community to speak to us in Discord, make videos, report bugs. We're extremely community driven. We want players to come talk to us on the Steam forums or our Discord!”

About This Game

Embark on a journey of transformation to restore an entire planet that has encountered a horrific runaway event. You must craft, manufacture, grow and manage to return the planet to its former prosperity. JUNKPUNK is an upto 5 player multiplayer experience but can still be enjoyed as a singleplayer. Explore a huge handcrafted and detailed open world filled with different biomes and locations. Explore these locations to discover new items, tech and story.

Clean and transform the world you have crash landed on, using a multitude of machines, crafted items and tools. Explore the world and collect varying types of scrap materials found across the planet's surface. Recycle and refine these items to craft and build higher tier equipment and items.

Collect seeds, balance soil, water and power to grow plants. Start regrowing plant life for the planet's surface. Use these plants to create a biological key and transform the planet's atmosphere.

Manufacture to construct special items to assist in unlocking super machines and convert the planet. Start by manually crafting then progressively automate your entire workflow to become almost fully autonomous.

Construct a customisable base from many different pieces that can be found and refined on the planet's surface. Build your own vision of manufacturing.

Brave dust storms and extreme windspeeds. Harvest fluctuating energy from the sun and the wind. Store power in batteries as backup to continue automated crafting.
