Why Early Access?

“We think Early Access is the perfect way to release Pickup Basketball VR because of the state the game is in. It is the full game that can be played either solo or online with other players however we would like to add additional features based on what player feedback and where they think we should concentrate our efforts into making the game even better.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We are projecting Pickup Basketball to be in Early Access for a few months before final release.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We would like to add customization options to the ball, perhaps more courts, Steam Achievements. We would like to add Computer AI for some of the modes like 1v1, 3 Point and Horse however this is not guaranteed. Would depend on user feedback and would have to weigh how important that would be to player vs other items.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“You can play all 5 basketball game modes ( 1v1, 2v2, 3 Point Contest, HORSE and Free Shoot). For solo play you can play 3 Point contest and Free Shoot. With other players online you can play all the modes. There is no AI in any of the modes.

You can customize your Avatar which allows you to change your face, hair, skin tone, accessories, and jersey. There's also 4 courts you can choose from (Gym, Street, Paris, Skyrise).

Voice chat is enabled so you can talk with people while you play with or against them.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, for Early Access it is going to be half the final price.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We are going to engage with the community and hear what they like and what they don't like about the game. Listening to their feedback will help guide us on what we should be focusing on either fixing, polishing, or adding specific features.

We will be reading the forums and also going online to play with people to hear what they think.”
