Why Early Access?

“Because I want ULTRAKILL to be the best game it can possibly be. The feedback I've gotten from the community has always been a big part of what has shaped the game into what it is, and in order to continue that, I want the players to get their hands on the game as soon as possible to make sure it is steered in the correct direction.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The game will stay in early access until the third and final act is complete, the current estimate of which is by the end of 2021, but it could be pushed back to sometime in 2022 in order to make sure the game reaches its full potential.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The game is planned to consist of 3 episodes or "acts", each with 10 levels as well as 2 secret missions and multiple new enemies and bosses, as well as a 5-level "prelude" available for free.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current Early Access version includes the prelude and the first act. 15 levels (as well as 3 secret levels), 8 bosses, 8 enemies, 4 weapons (with 4 variations each) and 5 difficulty modes. The prelude and first act have both been made sure to reach the level of quality that would be expected of a completed game.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“There are no plans for increasing the price of the game at any point in development.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I will read and consider all feedback received through Steam and Discord, as well as any other places I can find. Let me know how you feel about what is already in the game (weapons, enemies, level design, music, sound, etc.) and what you would like to see in the game's future. The community has already greatly shaped the game into what it is now, and I would like to see that continue.”

ULTRAKILL is a fast-paced ultraviolent old school FPS that fuses together classic shooters like Quake, modern shooters like Doom (2016) and character action games like Devil May Cry.
Mankind has gone extinct and the only beings left on earth are machines fuelled by blood, but now that blood is starting to run out on the surface, machines are racing to the depths of Hell in search of more.

  • Use your many movement abilities to stay mobile and avoid the relentless attacks of the dead, demons and other machines.
