MX vs ATV Reflex is branded as if it's some terrible, B-movie, half arsed attempt at off road racing. Y'know, the kind of game which has cardboard cutout dudes and one metal song as the soundtrack. But...this game has like 15 metal songs and 3D crowds. Also, it's actually brilliant.

This game is simply ONE OF or if not THE BEST MX game out right now. The physics (while not perfect) offer a great experience today even though this game is five years old. You can whip & control the bike in almost any way you want. There is a big variety of tracks & vehicles as well as customization features. When you get bored of the stock tracks there is a large assortment of custom tracks that are available online. You can also get custom skins for this game (for your rider & bike). If you want to make tracks or skins there is a track & dlc creator. The online works, and what has really got me into this game is competitive online racing. I have a Steam group with currently 148 people in it. We organize races every week or so with a points system and race format. If you are looking for a good MX game with decent looking graphics, good physics and many customization options this is it! Its tons of fun. Even though the game's optimization isn't spick and spam its easy to ignore it. Plug your controller in and have fun. Braaaap!

I'll admit, it was frustrating for me at first. The tutorials are all based on m+kb controls, so for each one I had to spend a bit of time fiddling around with my control figuring out how to do stuff. Even then, getting the hang of controlling the rider and the bike simultaneously was a bit awkward. But once I got the hang of it...? Pure awesome. I can really feel the rhythm of the race, and it's joyous. The more I played, the more I realized how I can control every bit of motion ], and it's fluid and responsive. I'm glad I finally bought it, even if it is lacking split-screen.

Update: After some more playtime, I've found a few things that irritate me. One is that the AI is sociopathic; while not as evident on the waypoint races, it's more apparent in the stadium tracks. The AI is determined to ride wherever it wants, and if so happens that the result is a massive wipeout with you, the AI is fine with that. The other quibble I have is that if you crash into a wall or fly off track, the game will sometimes respawn you wherever you were halfway through the crash, meaning an instant crash again, and again, and again... but overall, I find these minor issues compared to how fun the game is.

First Impressions:
If you remember the old Motocross Madness 1 & 2 from Microsoft back from 1998-2000 and loved it, then you are going to like this game. It is best to play it with a controller as the mouse to controll your lean and tricks is not ideal. It works well with an Xbox One controller.
The only slighly annoying thing from my first hour of gameplay is the narrators voice, but that is an entirely subjective thing.

If you want to relive your days of playing Motocross Madness this is as close as you can get on the PC, since Microsoft has abandoned their Madness series and only released the newer Motocross game on the Xbox.

A good motorbike game full of amazing stunts. Still laughing that I'm better than my dad when he rides his motorbikes all the time in real life. xD

A truly satisfying off-road experience, MX vs ATV Reflex shines in all but a few areas. Boasting an excellent physics engine not far behind that of the DIRT series, an eclectic seletion of vehicles from the lightest motocross bikes to large trophy trucks, and a comprehensive range of offroad environments, this game just gets it right in so many ways. Apart from some minor oversight in labeling gamepad controls, this title can be played comfortably with either a controller or mouse and keyboard. If you want some good old THQ extreme sports gameplay, look no further. MX vs ATV Reflex is a solid 9/10

Played Mx vs Atv Unlimited, it was awesome, very good soundtrack, good races (MOTOCROSS AND SUPER NATIONALS FTW) bikes...Rly didn't leave a bit in it, even had this freestyle, such great times, and slow-mo when you fall out of the bike? Wow 10/10...but we are here for Reflex, and well, it adds new things are removed other(good)things:
Reflex(duh): Third time i saw myself controlling a vehicle with a mouse, ah old good Halo and Borderlands.
Wrecks avoidge: With you're mouse sometimes when you should be down eating dirt you recover.
Tricks: Tons more tricks that i remember.
Ground breaking ground physics(get it?): As not like other games, you leave a path of the bike or yourself, pretty cool.
Textures: COOL
Soundtracks: had like 50 songs or so(maybe less), before it let me choose, now there's less music and cannot even choose or see the songs?
Slow-mo at "death": When you fall off the bike you dont get that kick ♥♥♥ slow-painfull-motion.

Overall ima give this game a 9/10.Totally worth buying it, and if you can the other Mx vs Atv series for ps2!

-Game loads up fast; starting up the game and loading the maps.
-Looks and sounds good.
-Control and gameplay are good.
-Different types of vehicles to drive.
-There is a race which allows all vehicles to participate together.

-sometimes slight glitches may occur when attampting to click the garage button to change or tune vehicle.(exiting the game and reloading is fast enough that it isn't too bothersome).
-sometimes slight slowdown after going off a jump (which doesn't really hurt the game play).
-I myself would like more maps to race on.

Hardly played it for 15 mins, the game seemed nice but i wanted to play it with controller but i guess it only works with an xbox controller or something, then made up my mind to play with keyboard but it seemed too irritating that way just uninstalled it right away. But i played the first few levels and game seemed fine.

Nice find! Picked this up on sale through the humble store and wasn't expecting much, but was pleasantly suprised. I'm still playing it, and all of my experience has been with single player, no online. The physics and ragdoll effects are fun and realistic ( I guess?) and the tarcks don't get to repeditive, except there are a few really long 15 minute races. I'm playing on normal difficulty and the computer is a joke, so you might want to bump it up. You can customize the looks of your vehicles, but the upgrades are all the same "power-wise" which is a little disapointing, meaning all of the vehicles are pretty much the same, they just handle a bit differently. It's a nice little racer that you can play for 15-30 minutes at a time, and doesn't take itself to seriously. I recomend it for less than $10. $5 is a steal.
