Before we go on, we are MISSING a few things in this update:
-New Garrison and Spec Ops models by Brad Staley, The Gentleman, and -Jack Staley, Jackskullcrack (and its particle effects).
-Scrap points on hlw_meltdown reworked
-Competitive game mode still needs balancing (strategists, feel free to take active part on reviewing this game mode ;]), also it has a few bugs as well (again, due to the rush).

    DOG.
  • Rebels Aid Station capacity increased from 6 to 8

You can really tell that the developers love what they're doing, and the eternal flame that will never be extinguished that is the love and passion for the Half-Life universe.

Great game with few flaws and outstanding frequent updates and gameplay!

I REALLY recommend this game to any RTS/ Half life fan.

This mod is fantastic! You can basically command an entire army from Half-Life 2. The best part is the game AND mod is free.

What can I say.
Have you ever got that feeling after playing Half Life 2, that.
"Oh, it would be awsome if there was a strategy game!"
Ever wanted to be a Combine Bully that sends in striders?
Don't forget to set up turrets and morters or this AI will send and army that most likely came from China.
Ever wanted to be a rebel commander?
Go on, just don't get too cocky, you still need scrap.
Would I recommed this game?
Yes! You should totally download it, right now. Infact.
If you are a fun of RTS games, this game is for you to try.

Alt+F4 doesn't work, Combine are wayy to Over powered and the game lags a ♥♥♥♥ ton when trying to play sandbox, as well as random explosions, and the AI placing antlion dens everywhere.....

------ Actual Reveiw ------

Pros:
+ Game runs great
+ It's a half life 2 RTS
+ the maps are decently sized
+ plenty of reasonable upgrades & units
+ free
+ good for when you have nothing else to do
+ multiplayer
+ you can self destruct units

Cons:
- alt+f4 doesn't work
- Combine is over powered
- no vehicles
- random explosions during Sandbox
- AI spam-♥♥♥♥s 80 units in 2 minutes (on 'normal' difficulty)
- not much to actually do
- no one ever plays this game (no servers OR players)
- combine has more units
- combine is the only almost-complete faction (infantry wise)
- turrents are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and barely work at best

10/10 would like to Alt+F4 again

A great RTS for a beta.
Lambda Wars is a beta RTS that is set in the Half Life 2 Universe, exactly my cup of tea. This is probably one of the best betas i've ever played. The devs did a great job on this one, incorporating more units that aren't in the lore for balancing, although they probably existed, none were ever noticed/mentioned.

Not a bad game for a beta. Lambda Wars is very similar to the first Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War games. There are outposts and energy generators, as well as base building for upgrades and better units.

In this game you can play as both the Combine and the Rebels, both are pretty well balanced. The rebels excel in overpowering the enemy through numbers while the combine have single, powerful units such as the Strider. You can also launch headcrabs into the enemy base to to turn them into zombies. That's always fun. And it's also completely free, there are no micro-transactions.

Every unit in the game are those from Half Life, there are Hunters, Striders, Zombies, etc. It could use some work, but it's definitely worth playing if you like Half Life and/or RTS games.

After playing for a whooping almost 200 hours, I feel I could write an actual review. I mean hell i've even written onto paper strategies I can use. Anyway, for anyone wondering if they should get this game? Hell yes, if you play starcraft you'll love this, its an epic RTS game, were you can lose at any turn, team mate of yours dosn't attack WHEN YOU TELL HIM TO ♥♥♥♥ING ATTACK THEN THE HARDPOINT HE IS HOLDING GETS RAIDED BY MANHACKS AND THEN HE- Ugh, ye at every turn you could lose or die. Its very tense, and epic I mean i'd give it a good 7/10 you should try it, as theres not enough people in the community:(

First off, this game strongly reminds me of Dawn of War (requisition, power generators, the building types, etc.), which is definitely not a bad thing. I'm a big fan of the Half Life universe and the units in this RTS interpretation of it fit the original enemies/friends perfectly. It does feel a little bumpy at times, with striders occasionally glitching out and sounds cutting out, but the game clearly states that it is in beta, and it's free, so taking that into consideration this game is certainly worth any fan of the RTS genre or Half Life series' time.

Half Life fans rejoice! THIS is the Half Life themed RTS Mod we've been waiting for. Players of Dawn of War will recognize the simple, base building components like requisition and power in order to build and upgrade, and if you haven't played DoW in the past, then it shouldn't take you more than a few minutes to understand the base building. So far I have not encountered any frame drops or crashing issues with the mod and the gameplay overall feels really smooth and comfortable. The Mod does have offline play with bots as well as online play already so that is a good thing. I can not wait to see what this Mod has in store for us in the future.
One request though: Ravenholm map please :)

This game is beyond expectations for a beta. I am very glad I voted it to be on steam. But there are some things I would love to see added.

1.A sell/demolition button on buildings
2. (Not really sure if I want this or not) Maybe a new faction, give a selection of diffrent factions rather than 2.
3.More units and buildings, would love for ever.
4.Some thing for the rebels to throw at the combine, combine got head crabs give the rebels something to work with.
5. Viechles.
6. More missions.
