- New placeholder researches, socket components and vehicles.
- Lots of improvements in the back-end of the assembly room, socket components and mission control.

Our game will achieve two goals - promote the outer space industry and satisfy all economy game fans. Race To Mars combines the realism of a spaceport management sim and approachable gameplay - we assure you that both subject aficionados and casual gamers will find this mixture most entertaining. This game has had very bad reputation but in all honesty the new developers are doing a outstanding job. (more on that below)

But first the question most want answered upfront.
Is it playable? No not really but the progress is really showing now.
Lets break it a bit down.

Interface is getting very nice with clear icons and easy to read graphs but I feel this game might have a very steep learning curve later on the project based on the types of resources and graphs. And I for one would love that.

Performancewise saying this game toke a big hit is a understatement, but I am actually happy to see that to.Because that means more intensive calculations are being done and that means progress. I am sure they will eventually go back to performance optimization but for now its a crawl but for testing purposes do able.

Not a lot on gameplay yet. except I belief its going to be the kind of easy to get into hard to master. There is to little of actualy gameplay and win, lose states yet. What I can say is that parts of busines project management are starting to surface more and more. And the ones implemented are being done better than some serious gaming training programs I have had the displeasure of using.

But the biggest improvement are the developers tasked now with this broken and challenging project. After a bit of a slow start things went smoother and smoother each month. For starters the update frequency. This has gone to a steady once a month sizable update. The changelog is also clearly written and we are told which parts of the game will be disabled or get broken and the reason behind it. I however would really wish the developers started to use something like Trello as ways of showing roadmap and project tasks. But that is not really feasible sadly

We also have some feedback from the developers in the forum. Yes I agree withe veryone thinking that this *should be* something normal for every project. But it sure as hell has not been that way untill now for this game project. And even though I think there could be a bit more communication towards the customers it is still a big improvement.

So communication back is sparse but they do actually listen to the critique suggestions and bug reports. Every month I see little things tackled and some things put a side for later because its not smart to fix it yet. And it should be done that way fixing every little cosmetic or grammar error while you are still building the framework is a disaster for productivity and planning. Like building a house by putting the doors inplace before you got the rooms done.

So what did I learn in this couple of months about the new team based on there progress.
They are pasionate, they really really want this game made no matter how negative people think about it.

They are dedicated to provide good quality management and project management and the proof is in the changelogs.

They are still learning how this game was first developed but they are starting to get a clearer picture dissecting it bit by bit.

So would I recommend buying this game in the state it is right now?
Surprisingly I am going to say yes. Not for it being a good game or because I think it will get done eventually. But simply because the developers deserve it.

Keep in mind this project might still sink hard in the future. But the biggest risk is shortage of resources and not incompetence bad design decisions or lack of communication.

While we can't lower the risk of this sinking by giving them more of the most valuable resource we have at our disposal (time) we can give them money in order to stay afloat as long as possible.

And even than when it sinks I atleast feel it has been worth it. Because some developers had the change to learn a great deal and might actually produce a good game from the start. But call me optimistic I think this game will be released in a playable state.

But going from a very negative review state to a neutral or positive one is going to be a big challenge. One I even think the developers should not strive for as fixing someone else there mistakes is child's play compared to fixing someone else there reputation.

As I always say to my team "To succeed is nothing more than becoming bad at making mistakes by just not being afraid of them"

So lets not be afraid of making the mistake which involves buying this game.


Below you can find my previous review of the game in January. This might give you some comparison with the April review.

Note this game has now a new publisher and developer and while It is certainly lightyears away from being ready there is a glimmer of hope again that the game will actually be released in some working state in the future. See the last part for the previous review.

The current state of the game:
Less possible than was released before. The reason behind this is acceptable however. They want to fix the framework before moving on to features and the game itself. To me that seems like a good decision I however have no clue what is being done with our bug reports and suggestions as there is little to no communcation between customers and developers in that regard.

After a big fiasco resulting in a large delay on the releases on steam compared to other platforms we are finally seeing some progress. This makes it possible again to file bug reports without having to worry about if things were already fixed or investigated.

Should you buy this game:
No not yet.

This title has had a lot of problems and still has. The new developers seems to be motivated to take things up but I have no idea of there capabilites and talent in general to do so. Once the framework has been redone and the game starts to be playable only than can we answer the question.

The big deciding factor to my no is the new publisher (OneMoreLevel) which fails to show any kind of
involvement.They failed to answer a e-mail adressed several months ago to there website and there is little to no trace of any involvement in the last couple of months on the forum. Why is this important? because they are the contractors that hired the external developers and as such if the contractors are not involved than the developers are left with little to no feedback on there directions.

So what should a potential buyer do?
Follow the game development but do not invest your money untill the updates state a working demo. After that you can test for a little over a hour if you like the direction the game is taking and decide to take a refund or take the risk by keeping the game. I believe this will take atleast a half year from the release of this review based on the current state and speed of development.

What shoulds someone do who bought the game already?
File all your complaints, suggestions and bug reports as much as you can.
If you do not see anything is being done with it in a couple of months than most likely your money is lost on a failed project. However without these reports the game will surerly fail and we the customers are than partially to blame. So if we want the game to succeed we have to contribute information.

I would love to give it a better review but it's not playable yet, I hope they manager to get their s*** togather because it has a lot of potential.

The creators of this game should read the Lean Startup. They've gotten quite a ways since it first came out, but they're not working near fast enough to have such an early launch of an early access game - this gives the early access opportunity a bad name. I will come back to this game every now and then, and if they alter enough, fast enough, then I'll be happy to give a good review. For now the speed of innovation should be picked up, don't try to make everything perfect, add features and request user feedback, that's how you get a good game, fast.

Не покупайте эту игру. Разработчики вот уже 8 месяцев кормят всех обещаниями,рассказывая на страницах facebook о разных геймплейных фишках. Игра мертва, и подозреваю изначально плохие продажи просто не дали работать над игрой дальше. Разработчики просто разбежались. А оставшийся основатель чуть ли не в одного пытается сделать вид что все хорошо, но все плохо. Создается только видимость бурной деятельности. НИ В КОЕМ СЛУЧАЕ НЕ ПОКУПАЙТЕ ИГРУ! НЕ ПОДДЕРЖИВАЙТЕ ЖАДНЫХ И ГЛУПЫХ РАЗРАБОТЧИКОВ!

25.01.2015 Апдейт:
Получили мы обновление Апполо, и что же мы видим? Игра как была почти год назад сырой так и осталась, такое ощещение что разработчики просто занимались другими делами, все что было получено, это R&D и все, ах да, конечно же, еще и кучу багов в придачу. Ну хотя бы для себя я теперь буду знать что INTERMARUM это жулье и лжецы не имеющие никакого отношения к Геймдеву. ПОВТОРЯЮ! НЕ ПОКУПАЙТЕ ЭТО ГУАНО!

А теперь рассмотрим лист изменений с патчем Appolo:
Одно, б*ядь, здание!!! Одно здание из дюжины, забагованное (Этот апдейт делался с марта месяца 2014 г.)
Research+Development (неиграбельно, только картинки, кнопки просто перестают быть активными)
Появилась схема разработки и изучения технологий, которая по словам разработчика не в финальном варианте! (Этот апдейт делался с марта месяца 2014 г.)
Assembly Building (неиграбельно)
Сборочное здание, которое нельзя использовать потому что все забагованно, ты просто не сможешь открыть технологию чтобы добраться до сборки чего-либо!!! (Этот апдейт делался с марта месяца 2014 г.)
University (♥♥♥♥ даже что они там наворотили, я до него не добрался, нервы дороже)
По обзорам понял что оно тоже не действует!

За 10 месяцев они добавили временную шкалу! Это песец, просто слов нет.

Отлично, основу игры, без которой нет смысла играть вообще, они добавили ее через 10 месяцев после выпуска ее в продажу.

Вранье, отвратительное вранье, мало того что там пишется что здание "В разработке", так еще и здание не активно через раз.

P.S. Соболезную дизайнеру который пережил трансплантацию почки (если это вообще правда), но CEO му*ак, если ты знаешь что твой дизайнер выбыл из строя, найди с*ка другого! Что в Польше мало геймдизов? У тебя сроки горят, ты должен отчитаться за деньги которые тебе дали, но ты просто забиваешь на проект и занимаешся неизвестно чем.

Szymon Janus! Постараюсь испортить тебе резюме, разнеся о тебе новость как можно дальше!


Полтора года с моего последнего обзора, больше 2 с половиной лет в разработке.
И игра до сих пор неиграбельна... стоп... да тут нет вообще никакой игры. Просто сплэш скрин с двумя триггерами и все. В самом приложении вообще нечего делать. Невозможно выполнить даже минимальные функции. Хоть и игра уже и сменила разработчика (Сайзмон Анус не смог продолжить разработку :), клоун бл*дь ). Этот да*н просто отдал или продал права на игру компании OneMoreLevel которая ничего толкого не сделала, кроме какого то треша и пары мобилок, но это еще не все. Сама OML игрой заниматься и не думает, они!!! наняли!!!! Оутсорсера!!!! Одного е*анного аутсорсера!!!! и он пилит игру по чайной ложке в месяц. Видимо это для того чтобы не схватить lawsuit замошенничество как это называется в цивилизованном мире. Szymon An_us ты уб*юдок.

This game is more than a year in the market and still got ZERO gameplay. Devs are making some minor patches, that do not do anything to actually make this a game, which can be played.
Maybe this is too hard for someone to make a clone for Buzz Auldrin Race into Space.

A perfect example of why early access has a bad reputation. There have been no updates as of the time of this review for 3 months.

The game in its present state is unplayable.

If you are a fan of this genre, don't buy now, check the game in 6 months time to see if it has developed at all.

Looks to have potential. But I really can't recommend this to anyone in it's current state. Even trying to work my way to assembling a satellite was painful. Wait for the updates.

If these guys are still going I think it might be time to white board this project.
From one Dev to another

1. Run through the bugs and make a list (may need several boards). Forget cosmetic graphics at this time the core programming need the most attention graphics is secondary to all else just look at minecraft and remember they did a lot with 8 and 16 bit graphics, no one builds a AAA game over night

2. Don’t be afraid to ask for help the community may have the help you need, some have already paid to support it. But paid or not the community may be willing to lend a hand to make this project succeed just look at Apache or firefox.
Don’t be a rob the builder (can we fix it … no its Fracked) and move on.

3. Project Management. Invest in a bug tracker most are open source (free) milestones help a lot and it shows the progress of development to the community and improves communication between dev and supporter. Forums Help but there not the be-all and end-all

(Optional) lower the price your rep is bad enough and the slow progress ain’t helping the cause

So at this time i would not recommend buying it but this might change in future (if an update is released before christmas)

A few thoughts (mainly to the devs but its general):
The motto I develop by is
“By small and simple things are great things brought to pass” (got that from a religious door knocker but it works)
The big picture looks good but building it, it’s like climbing Everest with your teeth you just freak out and start rocking in a corner saying this is not happening 50 times.
Just take small steps and by the time you realise it your half way there
So frequent small update are better then very long large update as it shows you still care about your project

This game is terrible.
Nothing can be clicked, all you can do is move to the next month.
When I bought this game originally it had more functionality, now it's completely broken!

Do NOT buy this game. It is a scam.

18 months ago I bought it trusting on developers. But now I is clear that is a waste of time being waiting for updates.

If you check the update list in this game you will see nothing just news lke: "we are fixing this, we fixed that' and nothing happens?

From one dev to other: Nothing works, nothing is completed, no evolution in more than 18 months, YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED.

Steam should ban companies and developers as you that only take money and do not deliver nothing. Stop to STEAL money from others.

This game seems to have been completely abandoned by its developers, even though they maintain that another patch is coming. It hasn't been updated since April 2014. Time and time again we've been promised a patch at a certain date, only to get an apologetic sob story.

Avoid this game. It is unplayable in its current state, and contrary to recent communication from the developer, no update seems to be forthcoming.

Edit, June 2015. A patch was released in the month of March. It added a few non-essential things and broke parts of the game. The game is still unplayable. It is not even remotely finished. Avoid this game.

Edit, May 2016. This game has received several updates as of late. The latest one actually managed to fix Mac support - it hasn't been working on Mac OS X for several months, so I've had the opportunity to check the state of the game for the first time this year. It is still far from a beta. It is hardly even an alpha. At the current pace I would surmise that the game might be in beta state somewhere in the middle of 2017. Avoid until someone actually posts a positive review.

[10/24/15] UPDATE: The original developers of Race To Mars (Intermarum) basically abandoned it, explaining that they simply couldn't handle the work and have been silent ever since. Another company acquired Race To Mars (One More Level) and promised that they'd finish production, update it on a weekly basis, and communicate to players about the state of the game.

Those were lies. They haven't updated the game weekly, nor did they do it for even one month. It has now beens months since the last update, and the developer has gone silent. DO NOT BUY THIS VAPORWARE.

First off, let me be clear: there is virtually nothing to this game. Beyond the basic buildings that have always been available, the vast majority of mechanics listed in the games description don't exist, with even its most vocal supporters only logging less than 10 hours due to no content. The developers hadn't produced a single update for nearly a year, hinting at some elusive "massive update" that they always claimed was just around the corner. That update has FINALLY come out, and it couldn't be any more clear that this is a scam. What's the big change?... a simple UI overhaul. The campaign is non-existant/unplayable since literally only 3 buildings (of the over dozen that have always claimed to be "around the corner") are in the game. Well, scratch that--2 of the 3 buildings say "Under Development" when you click on them. The 3D world you play within always looked unrefined and sloppy with underaverage visuals, but their one annual update seems to have managed to make it look even more unprofessional. Add on top of all of this that the game STILL contains choppy english, and well...

I wanted to really like this game, and I tried to trust the developers at their word, but this "game" is nothing more than an empty slot on Steam, attempting to take money from people by tricking them into thinking they're buying a game in progress. It's not. DO. NOT. BUY.
