Note this game has now a new publisher the review below is only historical.
This review will be updated once it becomes clear if the publisher (One More Level) can put the project on track.
Race to Mars is a game focussed on strategy and management which is being developed by a company who has no clue what management actually does.
Network administrators who have no clue how to run a basic mysqli server as there own forum (http://intermarum.com/forum)
is down for months right now due to either a botched server or a simple configuration error.
No money for marketing or PR as there is almost zero moderation or communication by any representative here on the steam discussions forum. Even worse in the past a representative that actually told customers to use there social media to contact them as they have no time to check there own forum.
A mismatch in patch/update information resulting in a changelog that is now missing 1 year of actual information. Yes this information is partially provided in the news section but who came up with the bright idea to forget to update there own made forum post regarding changelogs.
Net up a (lead) designer who due to pregnancy is not able to perform the tasks in a timely fashion or at all. No blame to the designer here and I wish her all the best. But how can someone in project lead/management forget to hire a back-up developer as maternity leave is not something that happens overnight.
How a company operates often dictates how well the project will be as it stands this game has no change of nearing completion. There is a clear lack of knowledge teamwork, motivation, resources and possible funding. With a ratio of 75% -+ negative customer feedback even if some or all of the problems would be fixed it would take a long time for the game to receive noteworthy attention or generate revenue for the company.
