"It's a steampunk Gauntlet 'em up Amiga game from 1993 with added online co-op and optional bloom. A good one though with great old-school pixel work."

Chaos Engine is a oldschool 2d platform shooter.

Game as been totally redone and works perfectly on my Windows 7 PC.
The games has the option to play alone with a Computer or Co-op with friends.
Controls are not the best I prefure a controller if I play this game.
It's basic and fun to play for a while... only it will get boring after some time.

It's funs, It's Co-Op and oldchool.
I give it a 6/10 score.

A no nonsense re-release of the classic Amiga game. The main difference is that you can now move and fire in more directions than the original, which actually improves the game and makes it feel more modern and fluid. (And don't worry if you're a purist; it's an option that can be turned off.)

However, I quickly turned off the bloom and filter effects. Why do they insist on butchering the beautiful pixel art by applying this awful filter that blurs everything to hell? Mastertronic, your screenshots posted on the Steam store for this game look like garbage! Repost them with the filter turned off and you'll probably sell more copies of this game.

Oh god, the Chaos Engine. The controls are just terrible, moreso even if you play with two players rather than just plop in an NPC to help you out. An NPC Preacher/Scientist can help more than another player can, simply because of the terrible controls. I thought a controller would make it better than if I were to play with keyboard controls, but I was wrong. So very, very wrong.

Although it runs without a hitch for me, there's apparently still a lot of issues with the port, so caveat emptor. A classic game, visuals and sound are way better than the SNES version I'm used to. Analog support is whatever, I think the bloom effect is kinda nice.
