Why Early Access?

“The game is now at a point where it has standalone value as a game, but is still considered “unfinished” with regards to the visuals and polish. Releasing the game into Early Access allows me to gauge the content that a real audience would like to see whilst I round out the level selection and features. Early Access also leaves room for me to add a layer of polish to the game that is not necessarily required to enjoy the content, but may be expected from a fully released title.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The aim is to transition from “Early Access” to a full release sometime within the year of 2024, once the desired feature and level set it complete as can be seen in the section below.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The goal for the fully released version of the game is to feature the full level sets for each of the game modes, as well as a few surprise modes for people to enjoy.

The plan is to hit 60 Time Trial levels, 12 Gem Arena levels and a number of interesting Arcade playlists, including a full game playlist once the Time Trial level set is complete.

It should also be mentioned that although the game will eventually transition to being considered a “full” version, I aim to continue support for the game with new levels and feature updates so long as there is a community of people interested in playing the game.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Game Modes
Currently the game includes the three core game modes, Time Trials, Gem Arenas and Arcade. There are over 30 levels available to play across these modes, with the ability to play online with friends for all but the arcade playlists.

Competition
Each level in the game has a global ranking for you for you to climb, as well as a one for each game mode rating and an overall game rating. The game also has a replay system, allowing you to play against your own ghosts, or against a rivals ghost in real time.

Theatre mode will allow you to re-watch your own personal runs, or perhaps scout out the competition and see what it takes to climb the rankings.

Customisation
And with all of that attention on replays, you will absolutely want to look the part, which is where the customisation comes in. The marble is fully customizable with hidden skins found throughout the levels by completing hidden puzzles, or for completing certain goals.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Given the scope of the game, I feel the current price is fair and have no plans to change it currently. With that being said, it is possible that post release, depending on the features added, the price may be increased to reflect the new content.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“As mentioned in my reasoning behind going with Early Access, having a live audience of people interested in this type of game is essential for my choices when it comes to level design and planned features going forward. I will be actively engaging in conversations with anyone willing to share their feedback and requests via the community discussions section on Steam and on my official game Discord.”
