What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“To be able to fully test and balance a game that preferably have thousands of players playing at once, we need to get Mortal Royale into your hands very early into development.
We are also very open to feedback and would love to hear yours!”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We are aiming at leaving early access around Q1 2019.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Currently we aim to leave early access with improved statistics, more loot, unlocks and a team-signup mode!
There’s also plans on adding support for trading cards and better leader-boards.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Mortal Royale is currently in alpha.
This means that the core systems are all in place but we still have some more features to add before we enter beta.

Alpha also means that you might run into bugs at times so please keep this in mind and PLEASE report anything you find on the forums.

Further more we are still very much balancing the game so if you have any ideas about how we should move the numbers around let us know.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We are planning to stay free to play and support the game and keep the servers running with optional DLCs that unlock more customization, emotes and other additions that helps you stand out of the crowd.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We need you!
We are very open to any suggestions you have to the gameplay.
Currently we are looking at expanding the game with more customization and possibly more modes and we would LOVE to hear what your thoughts are.

We have already during the closed alpha made a whole lot of changes based of this type of feedback so please keep it coming!”

Hotfix 19 December

We made some minor changes today aimed at mainly helping new players better understand the combat.

  • Added a simple help button and guide for new players in the searching for server window. It's still very basic but much better than nothing.
  • Players with DLC will now have yellow devotion level.
  • Updated the map in the game to better reflect the world. It should now be easier to find ways over mountains using the map.
  • Using mouse direction for directional blocking is now default off.
  • Using mouse direction for directional melee is now default off.
  • VOIP (not implemented) will no longer try to connect.
  • Use player to trade defaults to off

This is none-versioned fix meaning the version numbers will not update.
If you don't see the "open help" button in the character screen simply close the game and let steam update.
