What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Deadside is a slightly ambitious project for our team, and the work on it towards release may take as long as a few years. We, as the developers, are interested to ensure that players form our community can enjoy the game as early as possible, and we can receive some feedback on it. This may greatly improve the quality of the final product because it will be created in collaboration with the players, and it will also speed up the process of searching and fixing bugs in the early builds”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect that the game will be in Early Access state from 12 to 18 months. This will be enough time to complete the development of the minimal set of gameplay features as planned. Of course, the actual state of things will depend on many factors that are difficult to predict”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“his feature lists will make clear how will the game be different during early access period and after the release of the full version

And the features planned to be released in early access

- A part of game world available to players, approx. 50 sq. km
- About 15 types of firearms
- Some missions
- One or two land transport vehicles
- Basic crafting functionality with some recipes available

Short list of features that will be released in the full version of the product

- Full 225 sq. km map available to players
- Tons of guns, cold steel arms
- Land and water transport vehicles
- More complex crafting system
- Advanced NPC AI with autonomous goal-driven behaviour
- Missions
- Base building”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“At the moment the project is between pre-alpha and alpha development stages. In the current internal build the basic features - crafting, search for loot, realistic ballistics for small arms are implemented, and a significant part of the game world is already set up”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan that the price of the game will slowly increase as we getting closer to the release of the final version. In the early development stages, the price will be slighly lower, reflecting a kind of "thank you" to our community for participation and assistance in development process.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“As we mentioned above, we welcome any feedback, be it comments, ideas, feature requests or bug reports. To achieve that, we will use a maximum of possible communication channels with our players, from Steam discussion forums to social networks and even comments on videos at our official YouTube channel.

Everything that players say about our project has a significant value to us and we will constantly analyze the feedback during the development to make the final product to look the way the players want it to be”

About This Game

Deadside is a hardcore multiplayer shooter set in a large open world with wide gameplay possibilities. Experience a realistic post-apocalyptic game environment filled with NPCs and other players. Deadside is all about balancing the dynamics of a shooter and the hardcoreness of survival games. The world of the game focuses on realistic aspects of life within the ruins of a dead civilization. You won’t find zombies or radioactive bunny suits here.

The world of Deadside is a vast open space full of dense forests and abandoned settlements. Players will eventually have access to an area of about 225, entangled by a network of roads and rivers. Early Access playable area will be limited to about 25 The world is inhabited by various hostile and friendly NPCs. Exploring the forests, you can face a gang of cannibals just about to eat lunch. Or a group of wanderers trying to survive in a hostile environment. It’s completely up to you how to engage in these encounters. You might just make great friends, or your new rivals contesting the resources of the land.

It's a vast open world and in order to avoid getting lost and to keep themselves busy, players can use the map to see where armed bandits are raiding, areas being cleared by security forces loyal to the ex-government, or cannibals settling in abandoned villages. Anyone can take part in mass combat. It will not be an event with a limited number of players, anyone who wishes can go to the mission sector and affect the outcome of the battle. Battles with participation of NPCs and players can continue for hours and the reward will go to the one who can seize the prize loot after the mission is completed.

The main features of our combat system are realistic ballistics and hardcore weapon damage.
Players will have at their disposal about 19 types of firearms and additional equipment (sights, flashlights, etc.) will be available (at the time of early access).

Among endless vast wastelands, wanderers will find places where they can buy ammunition, food and have intellectual conversations about the meaning of life. Maybe swap a story or two about hunting cannibals. Also, there are private lockers for players in Green Zones where they can keep a limited number of things they use for surviving. Green Zones will be places of trade and communication between players and friendly NPC traders.

Deadside has a simple yet effective craft system that allows players to build bases and use them as shelters to store hard-earned weapons and equipment. Currently, bases have an “online-only” raid system. If you kill other players and they have a base, they might drop a raid token. This token, when activated, shows everyone on the server the location of the base, and it’s raidable for an hour.

At the moment, the transport in the game is represented by swamp boats.
Boats appear in the game from time to time with some fuel. Additional fuel and repair kits for the boat can be found as you explore the game world.
New modes of transport will be added in the process of expanding the content of the game.
