“Deadside is still in EA, so its content is constantly adding and improving. That is really needed. It is perfectly optimized and if the developers follow through, we have something to look forward to.”

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Deadside is a rather ambitious project for our team and working on it would have
taken at least several years before the release. As developers, we are interested in
players from our community being able to enjoy the game as early as possible so we can receive feedback. This will significantly improve the quality of the finished product, as it will be created together with the players and will help us with looking for bugs in the early builds.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We believe that the game will have this status for approximately 4 to 6 years. This time should be enough to implement at least the minimum set of the game planned game features. What actually happens will of course depend on a multitude of factors that are hard to predict.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Early Access Features:

- the player will be able to access approximately 50 km2 of the game world.
- around 30 types of firearm
- various tactical equipment, including smoke grenades, tripwire traps, respawn beacons and silencers
- a basic set of missions and events
- two models of water transport
- a simple item crafting system
- construction of bases with limited functionality (storing items, weapon repair, water extraction, etc.)
- base raids
- basic hunting and fishing mechanics
- Green Zones and NPC traders
- cooking food on a campfire
- training system

Full Version Features:
- a map with an area of around 225 km2
- an extensive arsenal of firearms and melee weapons
- a great variety of missions and events
- land and water transport
- a more advanced item crafting system
- an expansion of base functions
- a trade rating system
- hunting and fishing with a varied animal world and advanced mechanics
- long-term gameplay goals”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is at the Beta Testing stage right now. Almost all of the features that we were planning to implement in the final version of the game are in the current version of the game, so players can take a deep dive into its world. In the future, we are planning to expand the already existing functionality with new content and constantly give players something new.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We are planning to gradually increase the price of the game as the release of the final version approaches. At the early stages, the price will be quite low, reflecting our gratitude to our community for their help and involvement in the development of the project.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“As we mentioned above, we will welcome any feedback, whether it be comments, ideas, suggestions or messages about any bugs you may find. To do this, we will use every communication channel available to reach our players, from the Steam forums, to social networks and even the comments under YouTube videos. Everything that the players say about our projects is especially valuable to us and will be constantly analyzed over the course of development so that the final product meets the requirements of the players themselves as much as possible.”

About This Game

DEADSIDE blends together the feeling of an Extraction Shooter while taking place in an Open Persistent World with PVP / PVE, and Survival elements. Store your loot in a safe zone, or build a base in the vast world. You can store more loot in a base, and can't get offline raided. If other players kill you, you may drop a raid token which allows them to raid you for an hour. Mixed with tactical gunplay, challenging missions, newly-added boats, DEADSIDE offers an open world experience with fast and clear progression. You get guns fast.

THE WORLD OF DEADSIDE

The world of DEADSIDE is vast and filled with forests, rivers, and settlements. You can build anywhere outside of settlements. Challenging NPCs patrol the map, and your progression is solely decided by your own skill. There are no levels or bars. Your level is your skill and the equipment you acquire.

MISSIONS

Missions are a crucial part of progression. The world map will have them conveniently marked. Watchout for armed military groups and bandits, and high tier loot.

WEAPONS AND COMBAT SYSTEM

It's all about the ballistics and variety of weapons. Choose from 32 firearms, and modify them with scopes, expanded mags, flashlights, silencers and other modules. Feeling tactical? Setup tripwire traps, respawn beacons, use smoke grenades for cover. The combat system is designed to be hardcore.

TRADE and “SAFE ZONES”

Store your loot in Safe Zones. Nobody can take it from there. Trade with friendly NPCs. Make friends with other players. The Safe Zones are your extraction point if you don't want to build a base.

CONSTRUCTION AND RAID SYSTEM

There are no offline raids in DEADSIDE! You can build your own base to store loot and have a convenient location to go out and do missions. If you die to other players, there's a chance of a RAID TOKEN spawning. The enemy can activate this token, and your base will be raidable for an hour. No more waking up to destroyed bases like in more standard survival PVP games.

TRANSPORTATION

Right now, transportation in the game is represented by inflatable and swamp boats that occasionally appear in the game world with a small amount of fuel.
Additional fuel and repair kits for the boats can be found while exploring the game world.
As the game develops, we are planning to expand the number of transportation options.

The developers describe the content like this:

This game contains mature content like frequent violence or gore, blood and death
