What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Lawless Lands is a work in progress and still has a lot of work left to do. There is also a lot of room for more content and features to be added at the community's request!”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“There is no definite timeframe for Lawless Lands to be in Early Access. This game will be getting updated and improved constantly and will receive countless patches and updates over the course of development. It will probably be this way, but continuously improved over the next 6 months.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version of Lawless Lands will be immensely different compared to the Early Access version. It will have a complete storyline with hours upon hours of content, many side quests and activities to partake in, dozens of areas and maps to explore, and tons more content including weapons, armor, equipment, enemies, items, treasures, and more.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Lawless Lands currently has the base foundation of the game as well as some features that are finalized but most of it is still a work in progress with a few placeholders and some temporary content. The game will go through drastic changes and several transformations (visually and functionally) by the time development is finished. There are numerous side quests and various side activities currently available and a lot of diverse content to enjoy. You can see a list of features on the main store page.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The game's price will directly reflect the amount of content received, just like with our other games. The price will stay relatively low, but may rise a little by the time the game is finished.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Like with our previous games, we insist that players and community members let their voices be heard about improvements and content they'd like to see in the game! The best way to reach us is by visiting the game's community hub, here on Steam.”

A Note from the Dev on the Next Update

Lawless Lands

Hey guys.

I just learned that my family's dog that we have had since I was just a child is being put to rest tomorrow. His name is Odin and he is a really great dog. I'm going to need a few more days for the update. I'll continue working on it as best as I can, but I need some personal time. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

Thank you for understanding.

Developer Note

"Lawless Lands is meant to look, play, and feel like an old-school role-playing-game. Combined with modern features and favorites, this hybrid approach has been carefully calibrated to offer a unique and original experience of balance and flexibility, all while retaining the depth of a traditional RPG. The game features its own theme, lore, and storyline, and the player is placed at the center of it all. The systems in the game all coexist and collaborate to bring life and flavor to the game world. There are often many ways to complete an objective or to reach a goal. The equipment system is deep, and a handy prybar or a strong rope may become useful or even essential at times and could mean the difference between life and death. There is a lot of diversity between gear such as weapons and armor, and there are many different ways to build a character and shape them into a specific role, or even a jack-of-all-trades. Skills and talents also reflect this. The character creation system allows you to choose every aspect about your character. This includes gender, race, familial background, occupational background, traits, religion, alignment, appearance, skills, talents, and more. Create the fiercest slayer, the mightiest knight, the wisest wizard, the deadliest archer, the stealthiest assassin, or absolutely anything in between. The classless advancement system offers complete and total freedom without constraints. The game is intended to bridge the gap between traditional and modern styled RPGs."

About This Game

Arise:
Plunge into the Lawless Lands of Crossia, a once great kingdom where chaos slowly consumes more and more of the country. Take on the role of a champion who rises from the ashes to end the suffering.

Muster and Rally:
Create the character of your dreams with complete customization including traits, skills, training, abilities, companions, appearance, and an open-ended advancement system that allows you to improve and expand however you wish, without being limited by a class or tier based leveling system. Then, play how you choose with whatever equipment and gear that suits your favored playstyle for your adventures!

Stand Firm:
Arm and upgrade your character with skills and a huge armament to better allow them to face constant and ever growing challenges. Enemies improve as you and your company do, and so do the other various dangers and threats that stand in your way. Plan accordingly for each and every adventure.
