Why Early Access?

“Animal Jam - Play Wild began as a mobile game, so we’ve put a lot of effort into designing a desktop experience for Steam that takes advantage of the platform’s strengths. We want feedback from the Early Access community to help us fine-tune the desktop UX and identify things we can improve for launch.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We anticipate about a month in Early Access. The game is complete and has already been extensively tested.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Because Play Wild was originally made for mobile devices, we hope that Early Access will provide us with user feedback on how we can best update and improve the UI, UX, and other platform-specific features and functionality, as well as enhance the overall experience for Steam users.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“It's pawsome! Aside from the small improvements listed above, the Early Access version of Play Wild is already just as functional, just as packed with features, and just as fun as the mobile version.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“As with the mobile version of Play Wild, the desktop version will be free for everyone to play, with membership and premium currency options available. And “free to play” actually means free to PLAY. All of the core gameplay, social interaction, educational content, etc. is totally free.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Animal Jam IS community; it’s the essence of the game. AJ Play Wild has a long history of listening to and incorporating community feedback. Players are encouraged to leave feedback in the Steam community pages, through the in-game feedback button, or by contacting us on our social media channels. If players have issues that involve personal information or require customer support--such as account or inventory issues--they can contact the Play Wild Customer Support team directly through the "Need Help?" button found in the in-game Settings menu.”

However, in addition to exclusive member features in the game, paid subscription also includes membership in the AJ Classic web game.
