We can tell that you have a lot of passion for Terraforming Mars and we want to make sure that you know we are listening to the whole community.

Draft Variant
First of all, we want to address the Draft variant, something a lot of players were very vocal about.
The Draft Variant is one of the highest prioritized upcoming features. The free "Draft Update" is our next major update for Terraforming Mars and is planned to arrive in December. We'll be sure to have this in your hands as soon as possible.

We also understand that a lot of you have experienced some technical issues. We want to reassure you that we are committed to improve the quality of the game.
This is why we have prepared a first patch today to address over 70 bugs:

Hotfix 1.308 highlights
- Fixed: AI players sometimes stop taking decisions and freeze
- Fixed: AI players freeze when allowed to place a Greenery during the final Plant Conversion phase if the board is full
- Fixed: The player log is cut-off on computers with a 1366x768 resolution
- Fixed: Ocean placement actions are still available when no ocean tile can be placed
- Fixed: Progression blocker with the project card Mining Area (034)
- Fixed: Progression blocker with the project card Ants (035) action without valid target

- Fixed: Mining Rights (067) is not seen as an option for Robotic Workforce (086)

What's next?

Launch day: start terraforming today!

Dear players,

The United Nations Mars Initiative now declares the Red Planet open to colonization. It's time for you to start terraforming against 3 levels of AI and/or human players in single player, local hotseat or online. Veteran players can also test their skill with the Solo challenge variant, the Corporate Era variant and dozens of Steam Achievements to unlock.

Today is also the first step of a long and beautiful journey. With the support of Jacob Fryxelius and the feedback of our beta-testers, we're already working on the next step: the Draft Update! It will include:
  • The official Draft variant
  • An improvement to the Awards and Milestones panels to track the progression of all players
  • An improvement to the standard project Sell Patents (select -> confirm/cancel)
The Draft Update is planned for early December.

Happy Terraforming and see you on Mars!

About This Game

The taming of the Red Planet has begun!
Corporations are competing to transform Mars into a habitable planet by spending vast resources and using innovative technology to raise temperature, create a breathable atmosphere, and make oceans of water. As terraforming progresses, more and more people will immigrate from Earth to live on the Red Planet.
In Terraforming Mars, you control a corporation with a certain profile. Play project cards, build up production, place your cities and green areas on the map, and race for milestones and awards! Will your corporation lead the way into humanity’s new era?

  • The official adaptation of the cult board game, faithfully developed with the help of Jacob Fryxelius, author of the boardgame.
  • Turn-based strategy: choose a specialized corporation, build facilities, research innovative technologies and manage your resources productions
  • Life on Mars? Improve the conditions on the Red Planet by warming it up to melt the ice and create oceans, planting oxygen-producing flora and introducing both small and big animals.
  • Corporation rivalry: it’s a nice forest you’ve planted there - wouldn’t it be a shame if a large asteroid was steered to crash right on it? Develop Projects that will slow down your opponents!
  • Mars for all: play solo or with up to 5 players in multiplayer games against local or online opponents, humans or AI
  • Game variant: Try the Corporate Era rules, for a more complex game. This variant adds new cards, including 2 new corporations, and focuses on economy and technology. These are projects that do not contribute directly to terraforming, but make the corporations stronger, adding new strategic choices to the game!
  • Solo Challenge: Finish terraforming Mars before the end of generation 14. Try new rules and features in the most challenging solo mode on the (Red) planet.
  • More to terraform: additional content to come after launch

    • OS: Windows 7 / Windows 8 / Windows 10
    • Processor: Dual Core 3.0 GHz
    • Memory: 4 GB RAM
