What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Ring of Elysium is a multiplayer online battle royale shooter. We need more feedback to create a better polished game. With players joining the game earlier, we can understand our players better and adjust the final version accordingly.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Early Access will last for approximately 3 - 6 months, depending on the development schedule.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The final version will provide a refined battle royale mode, polished features, and fine-tuned gameplay balance. We will also implement new features including player progression systems, and several casual game modes.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access build provides one battle royale mode on a snow mountain map. Mode rules and gameplay features are full and operational. Basic systems are fully-featured, including matchmaking, friends, cosmetic item collection and more. Server operation and client stability are in great shape. This build has gone through a closed-beta period with several thousands of participants and overall user experience was proven to be very good.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The game will be permanently free, during and after Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We will monitor feedback from the community on a daily basis and reply promptly. Players are welcomed to send ideas and suggestions directly to our email ROE@tencent.com. We will read them intently and implement good ones in our game.”

Follow-up announcement on the drastically decreased framerate issue for NVIDIA graphics card notebook users

Dear players,

Since Dec. 3rd, we received some feedback from notebook computer users mentioning an issue about having drastically decreased framerate in-game compared to before (for example- 100 FPS dropped to 30 FPS).

After locating and confirming that the root cause of the issue came from the NVIDIA graphics driver, we made two announcements, recommending players to reinstall the previous version of the NVIDIA graphics driver, and recommending Windows 10 users to update their Windows 10 to the latest version available to avoid this issue.

Recently, NVIDIA officially released the latest version of their graphics driver 417.35 (December 12), and stated that this driver version fixed the issue of "Frame rate of 3D games may drop to under 30 fps on notebooks". Therefore, if you are using a notebook with NVIDIA graphics card is still experiencing this issue, we recommend that you update the graphics card driver to the latest version in time.

Here's the download link for the latest NVIDIA graphics driver:

Windows 7, 64 bit:

At the same time, the ROE dev team will continue to pay close attention to issues such as game crashes and performance optimization in general, and post more announcements when we make new progresses. Again, we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused by this, thank you for your patience and support.
