Why Early Access?

“Despite the fact that before publishing a game in Steam store we made a huge scope of works on game development, and made internal testing of alpha version, which was lasting for little more than a year, we think that our game is not ready enough to get the stats of final version. At the moment, game contains great amount of game content, designed for many hours of gameplay, but there is a big stock of new ideas and game possibilities in our plans. We think, that Early Access allows involving bigger number of players to Will To Live Online universe, which gives the possibility to Steam game community to take active part in game development, and for us this is a financial support for future development of the game.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“At the moment we have no opinion for exact date, but we hope that game will be out of Early Access in the second quarter of 2019.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Full version will have much more game possibilities, their major part will be directed to the development of social content of the game, which allows increasing the role of interaction between players in many spheres of activity: in-game economics and trade; craft; fractions and clans; raid monsters, etc. Great attention will be paid to presentation of world history through the number of questlines, that will give the possibility to players to sort out the current situation in game world, as well as understand possible reasons of the Catastrophe and histories of conflicts.
As well, much larger world is waiting for players in full version. During the period of Early Access we plan to add a good number of different locations with unique features of gameplay, which allows players’ total immersion to the process of exploration of game world.
Beside the abovementioned, full version of the game will contain much bigger amount of in-game content: expanded selection of weapons and inventory; different equipment; majority of both regular and raid monsters; ample opportunities for character customization; voicework for game characters; ample opportunities for craft, and a lot more.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“At the current stage, all the functions, presented in game description, are implemented in the game.

At the moment game contains 11 locations with diffenet types of territory: wastelands, abandoned villages, forests, mines, caves, bogs and military objects. World is full of different hazards and incomprehensible phenomena: radiation, monsters, anomalies and enigmatic artifacts.

More than 100 quests are realized, no less than 40 hours are necessary for their completion, and their questline leads the player to selection of one of adversary factions.

Players may create up to 4 different characters and adjust their appearance: select sex, stature, face, clothes, their colors, etc. Class system of characters and system of skills development are implemented, which might be changed during the game.

Game contains basic craft opportunities, such as cooking and brewing with the campfire, construction of simple inventory items, mining of different minerals and steel production. There is a possibility of trade between players in the game. We realized the opportunity to add players to the groups; voice communication and text chat are available.

As the game contains basic elements of surviving, players will face the search of sources of water and food. Hunting is one of the ways to get the food. For this, beside monsters, regular animals exist in the game: hens, rabbits, foxes and deer.

At the moment game contains more than 30 types of weapons with the possibility to modify it: painting and installation of additional accessories, such as scopes and red-dot sights and muzzle brakes.

As the game is not a final product yet, character progress is artificially limited with 35 level. However, to achieve this level, player needs several weeks of playing time. This limitation will be changed during the process of game development, and maximally possible level in final version will be equal to 100.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We understand that in this moment our game is not a final product, and during the period of Early Access we will make a great amount of work to make our game better and closer to its final state. Considering the fact that we do not plan to insert the paid content to the game, which influences the game balance, it may happen that we will change the cost of our game after its leaving the Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Before publishing the game in Early Access we were actively working with established game community in social networks and in our forums. In the stage of Early Access, we plan keeping communicating with our game community, will follow the thematic discussions of our players, and, as well, we will consider the opinion of game community, especially if it is related to different problems, connected with game process and balance. Besides, we always follow the offers, related to new functions in the game, and if these offers are supported by majority of players, we try to implement them. Thus, community is literally defining the final state of the game.”

Description of the update 0.52.3 (hotfix 3)



Good time of day, fighters! Already passed two whole days since the last patch! So that’s why we’ve prepared another update today!

Arena

We’ve made a decision to return PvP-Arena in this patch with some remakes. Now PvP-arena available only for faction players and you can get into Arena only from Michalych and Valera accordingly. The spawn points on arena now belong to factions that let to split players into 2 teams automatically. Also, the points counter is added to the arena which has a cooldown after 15 minutes. We’ve decided that the 15 min cooldown should be enough for the match. When the match becomes finished, players have 5 minutes to prepare for the next battle.

Let us note that the development of the Arena not completed and it will be improved gradually. It’s an experiment.

Animation

Different problems with animation, such as nuts throwing, brass knuckles attack, snuggle and grenade throwing, are fixed. Moreover, we’ve changed aim animation: now when you run and aim, the character switches from “running” to “walking”.

Monsters

The matador has got a new attack.

PvP experience

The algorithms of the getting experience in PvP battles are changed. Now players from the one faction, one team or group don’t get experience for killing each other. Also, the method of calculation for PvP-experience has changed: than higher a difference between you and your enemy you have than lower experience you get. We made this decision because players in collusion with each other used PvP-experience to develop their characters faster.

English localization

English localization has got major improvements in this update. Thanks to the community, English localization got a better quality of the translation. Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this. Special thanks to the player named as “ДедДонатер” (MSK-1)/ “Алиса” (USA-1) for his help in translation.

Will To Live Online — MMORPG-shooter with elements of surviving, its story is set in wastelands of the post-apocalyptic world. Player has to explore the large open world, full of dangerous places, radiation, mutants, and armed survivors.



Hunger and thirst will not leave you sitting still, and dangerous anomalies will force you to be attentive and watch every step. You will face the fight for the right to survive in order to recognize your role in this severe world.

Explore the world and its history, complete quests, fight monsters and other survivors, obtain resources, make hunting and gathering, make trade and exchange with other players. Find new friends or mortal enemies.

You may create up to four characters of different classes, each of them has his unique characteristics, game style, and weapons. Develop your character to get access to the new weapons and new class abilities. Enter one of the hostile factions and protect its interests.
