What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Project Genesis entered Early Access to build a community of players who could help shape the game's direction through real feedback and regular playtesting. That collaboration proved invaluable. The input we received from our Test Pilots influenced hundreds of development decisions and ultimately shaped the architecture of Project Genesis's core game mechanics.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Project Genesis is will be retiring Early Access in the coming weeks, as we go back to the drawing board. Active development on the PvP live service is winding down as of March 31, 2026.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Our original plan included a free-to-play full release supported by a live service model. That vision evolved significantly as we received input from the community. Frankly, we were not able to keep up with the pace of feature releases and requirements that players expect from a live service title.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Project Genesis features third-person space combat and FPS breach-and-board gameplay across multiple modes. Live multiplayer servers are being wound down as of March 31, 2026. Local play options are being explored for future availability.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Project Genesis is no longer being actively developed as a live service title. The original free-to-play pricing model has been retired alongside the live service. Existing purchases remain valid and will be honored as we work toward delivering an experience that players deserve.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Our Test Pilot community has been central to Project Genesis from the beginning. They have been participating in daily playtests, providing feedback that shaped core gameplay decisions, and helping us understand what makes this experience worth building. That relationship continues as we explore the next phase of this IP.”

“To be honest, it's too good to be a pre-alpha game.”

About This Game

Project Genesis is a sci-fi shooter that fuses two distinct gameplay experiences into one seamless combat loop.

Breach and Board When ships get close enough, the Breach and Board sequence triggers a shift into FPS close-quarter combat aboard massive capital ships. Standard WASD controls make the transition seamless — no new control schemes, no perspective adjustment period.

Ship to Ship Combat Engage in third-person space combat with free-look targeting. Steer your ship, aim freely, and engage enemies across open space. The flight model is intentionally accessible — no complicated controls, no steep learning curve. Targeting and HUD systems borrow from FPS industry standards to keep the experience intuitive from the first session.

A Shared Control Language Across both modes, Project Genesis uses a common gameplay paradigm — HP, Energy, primary and secondary weapons, abilities and utilities — built around familiar Tank, Support, and DPS roles. Boost, shields, weapon loadouts, countermeasures, and throwable ordnance give players meaningful tactical depth without unnecessary complexity.

Project Genesis was developed with an active community of Test Pilots whose feedback shaped the game's direction from the ground up. Active development has wound down, but the game remains available to those who supported it during Early Access.
