Airmen Update 1.13.10: Siege UI and 6 New Cosmetics

This week's update rounds out the expanded siege mode with new lobby UI. The new interface shows launched players, highlights captains, and makes the siege team visible in the crew lists.

Some simple challenges tied to the adjustable weapons have also been added that unlock six new cosmetics.

This week's update is small to accommodate work being done on a new trailer that better reflects the gameplay of expedition mode.

Join us on Discord for public playtests Friday at 12pm ET, Saturday at 3pm ET, and Monday at 7pm ET.

1.13.10

Major Features
  • Improved the crew details lobby menu to highlight the captain, show which players have launched, and hide the kick button for non-captains.

  • Added 6 new cosmetics unlocked through challenges related to adjustable weapon use.
Minor Features
  • The siege team is now visible in the captain list and the siege captain is labelled "Castellan" instead. Joining this crew joins the siege.

  • An active siege creates a map marker, objective, and compass marker when within 800 meters for all players.

  • Increased Breach Cannon damage by 5.

  • Increased Barrage Cannon damage by 15.

  • Increased Seeker Cannon damage by 15.

  • The cosmetic preview airmen now clenches his fists. What is he so mad about?
Bug Fixes
  • Fixed a bug were lobby crews did not disband if all in-game players on the crew left.

Airmen Update 1.13.9: Capture Contracts and Siege Ships

Capture contracts are now available in the new high elevation basement of Tower Reckongale. Similar to rescue contracts, capture contracts require returning a ship to a fort but with all the added complications of that ship being fully functional and highly hostile. Rewards for completing these contracts are much higher compared to rescues.

Expedition sieges also receive a rework now allowing the optional use of any custom ship alongside the siege fort. You can bring this ship at no resource cost but are restricted from leaving the island. Some sieges are not available to watercraft due to the lack of nearby water.

Grappling guns have also been reworked. Rather than their flexible instantaneous pull they will now pull consistently over a short period of time. This makes them stupidly easy to use and if the cooldown didn't exists you could precisely navigate ships without touching WASD. If you never learned how to jump before the pull you'll now be relentlessly scraped over every obstacle in your way.

Join us on Discord for public playtests Friday at 12pm ET, Saturday at 3pm ET, and Monday at 7pm ET.

1.13.9

Major Features
  • Added Capture contracts available at Tower Reckongale.

  • You can now select a ship when playing sieges for no resource cost. If a siege player leaves the island they will be returned to hangar. If a siege ship leaves the island it will be immediately destroyed.
Minor Features
  • Decreased flak cannon AoE priming range from 100m to 80m.

  • Added more loading progress text.

  • Reworked grappling gun to pull over a short period of time rather than apply a single force.

  • Improved the rope shader to actually look like rope. Applied to the grappling gun and harpoon.
Bug Fixes
  • Fixed the grappling gun projectile's shaky movement when fired from a moving platform.

  • Fixed the grappling gun not inheriting platform velocity when fired from a moving platform.
