Why Early Access?

“We want to gather feedback and involve our community in Blazing Beaks development. On top of that, the game has a lot of elements which form various combinations and it's very difficult to playtest them all being a small team.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“At least 6 months, but it's very hard to tell. Our priority is to make an awesome game even if it would take more time than expected.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“It is hard to tell precisely, because we also want the community to have influence on our game features. But what we know for sure is that the final version will have approximately 3 times more content compared to the initial Early Access release. That means:
  • more areas/locations
  • more weapons
  • more items and artefacts
  • more enemies and bosses
  • more secrets

Additionaly, the final version will have a different balance as more content requires balance changes and even more polish.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Current version of the game can be described as quality over quantity. We concentrated on the smaller part of the game and polished it as much as possible but that does not mean that the game does not have content. The game has 3 areas in Story mode, dozen of guns, 70+ items and artefacts and fully finished Tournament mode (co-op only) with 5 different modes. This makes up roughly 1/3 of all the planned content.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price will increase as more content is added.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community is the main reason why we decided to go Early Access in general. We want to communicate and inform our community about the game updates, get involved in the discussion about the game features, content and make Blazing Beaks as fun as possible.”

Update 25 (v0.8.0)

Hi everyone,

Exciting update is here! As promised it introduces new area with new enemies and boss. Also we added various neat hand-crafted levels, done some balancing and made other small changes. We are really happy seeing how this new area turned out and hope you will enjoy playing it :)
All other patch notes are listed below:

  • Fixed a bug where on some occasions destructible objects were not destroyed by shooting bouncing projectiles from close range.

Steps towards release & price

Hi everyone,

We are very happy seeing how much Blazing Beaks evolved and where it’s going further. None of this would have been done without our awesome community so we would like to share few important things with you all what you can expect in the future.

Price increase
First things first, as mentioned in our Early Access store page description the price of the game will increase as more content is added. Initial Early Access release price was lower considering the amount of content it had. We wanted that the price would be fair for the players who want to buy the game very early. We already knew what we need to achieve to adjust the price. Exactly in 7 days, on the 5th of December, we will be releasing bigger update with new area and this is the day when the price will go up to 14.99$ (11.99£, 14.99€). So you have time to buy the game at lower price.
Price increase should not be a decisive factor to buy it now. If you want to enjoy full game we recommend to wait for the full release. You can read about future content and full release below.

Content and full release
When Blazing Beaks was launched in Early Access we initially planned that 6-9 months will be needed to make the content and adjustments till full release. Our community got involved and we had such dedicated players who helped a lot shaping Blazing Beaks. So our plan was additionally filled up with awesome ideas and suggestions that made the game more enjoyable.
As we mentioned above new update will be released on the 5th of December including new area with new enemies and boss. After this update you can expect at least one more update by the end of the year.

Blazing Beaks has been in Early Access for some time and we made 24 updates already. Those updates contained a lot of new content, optimizations, balance adjustments and other features:
  • Added 70 new items and artefacts;
  • Added 28 new weapons;
  • Added 3 new characters.
  • Added 1 new area;
  • Added 6 new enemies;
  • Added 1 new boss;
  • Added 85 hand-crafted levels;
  • Added 8 active abilities;
  • Balanced and optimized game a lot, improved gameplay and user experience;
  • Added tutorial;
  • Reworked all 5 initial characters;
  • Added machines for trading resources;
  • Added secret levels;
  • Reworked how game handles frame rate. Now it supports dynamic frame rate.
  • Added ability to steal a weapon from the shop;
  • Added inventory window on pause screen;
  • Added collectables, statistics and progress system to the game;
  • Additionally added support for other X-Input controllers, PS4 and other regular ones.
  • With the help of our community we added Russian, German, Turkish, Brazilian-Portuguese and Polish languages in the game.
  • Added character mods support and Steam Workshop.

Although a lot has been done but still more to come. Blazing Beaks has more and more content with every update and it’s few steps away from full release. As our team consists of only 2 people to make those steps still few months will be needed. We put all our time, effort and love to making Blazing Beaks. Game has already been 3 years in development and it’s very important for us what the game will be when it exits Early Access stage, so we will announce the exact full release date when we are ready.
We want to make the biggest update yet for the full release so we will need time to prepare for that. After New Year (when game version will reach v0.9.0.0) there will be some updates but it will not be big ones.

Full release will not be the final destination. It’s a point where the game is stable, initially planned content is made, game can be fully played and is a message for players that the game is ready. We have already planned what we want to make after full release, also we have tons and tons of our community suggestions.

About This Game

  • Lots of hours of fun:
    Randomly generated levels and loot drops make every playthrough different.

Story mode (1-2 local players): It's an explosive adventure where you are fighting the invaders and searching for the origin of evil. Endless pile of enemies you can shoot, blast, zap and disintegrate every way you want. Cute and charming world with challenging levels full of surprises.

Tournament mode (2-4 local players): It’s battle experience where you compete with your friends to find out who's the real hero.

  • Deathmatch: Everyone by themselves. Last beak standing wins.
  • One gun mode: Each player starts with the same randomly chosen weapon which cannot be changed in that round.
  • Drop Hearts mode: A player drops some hearts when he is hurt and either he or any other player can collect them.
  • Skull keeper mode: Grab and keep the golden skull without losing it for a certain amount of time and all your opponents will lose 1 HP.
  • Hunting mode: Each player starts with a spear in their possession. Once you throw it, you need to grab it before you can throw it again.
