Why Early Access?

“We want to gather feedback and involve our community in Blazing Beaks development. On top of that, the game has a lot of elements which form various combinations and it's very difficult to playtest them all being a small team.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“At least 6 months, but it's very hard to tell. Our priority is to make an awesome game even if it would take more time than expected.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“It is hard to tell precisely, because we also want the community to have influence on our game features. But what we know for sure is that the final version will have approximately 3 times more content compared to the initial Early Access release. That means:
  • more areas/locations
  • more weapons
  • more items and artefacts
  • more enemies and bosses
  • more secrets

Additionaly, the final version will have a different balance as more content requires balance changes and even more polish.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Current version of the game can be described as quality over quantity. We concentrated on the smaller part of the game and polished it as much as possible but that does not mean that the game does not have content. The game has 3 areas in Story mode, dozen of guns, 70+ items and artefacts and fully finished Tournament mode (co-op only) with 5 different modes. This makes up roughly 1/3 of all the planned content.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price will increase as more content is added.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community is the main reason why we decided to go Early Access in general. We want to communicate and inform our community about the game updates, get involved in the discussion about the game features, content and make Blazing Beaks as fun as possible.”

Update 22 (v0.7.1)


Here is a smaller update. We added two new languages: Turkish and Brazilian-Portuguese.

Turkish language translation by Shotgun.
Brazilian-Portuguese language translation by Slacker Magician.

We also made balance changes and fixed some bugs in this update. Here's a quick overview:

  • Added 2 new languages Turkish and Brazilian-Portuguese.

  • When a character has full HP and tries to pick up a heart it is pushed away.
  • Enemies that are cloned by Penguin now has x3 higher chance to drop loot.
  • Added functionality for menu listings that have multiple values (for example: On/Off) to switch to the next value by pressing "Enter" or "E" keys.

  • Balanced loops more.
  • Added a chance that there will be no shop door in some loop areas.
  • Balanced Bluebird's ability to exchange coins into HP after entering boss level.
  • Adjusted Sand artefact risk value making it 0.5.
  • Balanced Penguin’s ability to clone enemies.
  • Increased one bullet damage from 0.5 to 0.7 for Snowball cannon.

Bug fixes
  • Fixed a bug where a game crashed on launch when subscribed Steam Workshop item was not fully downloaded before launching the game.
  • Fixed a bug with Tangled Fingers artefact where co-op player could not shoot if the other died holding fire button.
  • Fixed a bug where weapon icons could be triggered even when a player was dead.
  • Fixed a bug when after changing language in the game custom character’s default description was shown in the language that was previously chosen.

Update 21 (v0.7.0)


Here is the new update which took longer to make, but we hope that the wait was worth it.
We added three new heroes - one of them Penguin which was highly anticipated by our community. Also one of the major reasons why this update took longer was that we wanted to make additional feature as a surprise - character mods. Now everyone can create their own custom character and share it to other players in Steam Workshop. In addition to that, the good news is that Steam Workshop is not required to make a new mod - you can make a local copy and just share it through your preferred channels. To make all modding more user friendly we created a modding software, written some instructions and recommendations and created a demo custom character.

Workshop now has custom demo character Cool Duck. Feel free to subscribe and try it!

  • 3 new characters.
  • Character mods. Now you can create your own and play it in the game.
  • Steam Workshop support for characters.
  • 3 new weapons for new characters.
  • Now all hearts, coins, keys, artefacts and items are pushed away from the character if they cannot be picked up.
  • Added sounds for unlock screen.

  • Adjusted character’s images represented on the stones in the main characters selection screen.

  • Balanced Bluebird ability where coins are converted into hearts. Now the amount of coins required for 1 heart will increase with every loop.
  • If shop door are present in the level and player decides to go through secret or locked level doors, there will be a guaranteed chance to find shop door in current area, unless next level is the last level before boss fight.
  • Balanced when shop door can appear.

Bug fixes
  • Edited English versions of Golden Gun and Black Matter Gun descriptions so that it would fit in the log section.
  • Fixed a bug where bosses HP indicator did not slide down after defeat.
  • Fixed a bug where acid puddles did not disappear when a lot of Sponge items were picked up.
  • Fixed a bug where players could not shoot if a lot of artefacts reducing weapon’s reload time were picked up.

About This Game

Roguelite where too much greediness can lead to death. Colorful world with armed birds blazing the way out through the piles of mutants, monsters and creepy creatures. Lots of mysteries to unravel, secrets to find and levels to explore.

Game modes

Story mode (1-2 local players) - it's an explosive adventure where you are fighting the invaders and searching for the origin of evil. Endless pile of enemies you can shoot, blast, zap and disintegrate every way you want. Cute and charming world with challenging levels full of surprises.

Tournament mode (2-4 local players) - it’s battle experience where you compete with your friends to find out who's the real hero.

  • Deathmatch - Everyone by themselves. Last beak standing wins.
  • One gun mode - Each player starts with the same randomly chosen weapon which cannot be changed in that round.
  • Drop Hearts mode - A player drops some hearts when he is hurt and either he or any other player can collect them.
  • Skull keeper mode - Grab and keep the golden skull without losing it for a certain amount of time and all your opponents will lose 1 HP.
  • Hunting mode - Each player starts with a spear in their possession. Once you throw it, you need to grab it before you can throw it again.
