Forty tourists. One phone pointed at the park guard. Ten seconds later, the photo lands on his phone. Blend into a sunny theme park crowd, snap the guards in secret — or play the guard, study your own photo, find the sneak and bonk them! Wrong person? Oops.

About This Game

What is Snap Party?

You're in a city park. Around forty visitors are strolling around, sightseeing, and taking photos of the fountain. Some players are photographers; others are park guards. The photographers' job is to secretly take photos of the guards. The guards' job is to figure out who did it and bonk them with a stick.

Here's the catch: photographers wear the exact same outfits as visitors, walk at the same pace, and raise their phones the exact same way. When a guard looks at the crowd, it's impossible to tell who is a player and who is an NPC.

What happens when you take a photo?

When you take a photo of a guard, it lands on that guard's phone about 10 seconds later with a notification. The guard can see where the photo was taken from, the timestamp, and everyone captured in the frame. The location of the photo also flashes on the map for a few seconds.

Anyone visible in the photo can't be the photographer, because they are in front of the lens. So the guard has to deduce who snapped that shot from behind the camera 10 seconds ago. By then, the photographer has likely moved away or even changed their outfit.

Playing as a Photographer

You must take at least one photo of a guard every two minutes, or you'll be eliminated. No hiding in a corner and waiting out the round!

Right-click to raise your phone and open the camera. When a guard enters the frame, a green outline appears—that's your cue to snap. If you shoot from closer than 8 meters, the photo awards 2 points instead of 1.

You can stand around the corner of a building and peek your arm out to snap a shot. You stay hidden behind the wall, but your arm and phone remain visible.

You can doodle over your latest photo with a paintbrush to turn it into a poster and hang it on a wall. Posters are worth 2 points, but you are exposed for 5 seconds while hanging them.

You can change clothes during a round up to the limit set in the game settings. Hold Tab and pick an outfit to switch instantly. Since NPCs wear the same clothes, you instantly blend back into the crowd.

Photographers are the only ones in the park who can sprint. It's great for escaping, but sprinting stands out immediately—and pigeons scatter as you run past!

Playing as a Guard

When the notification buzzes, examine the photo: what angle was it taken from, what time, and who is in the shot?

Blow your whistle! All nearby NPCs will freeze and turn toward you. Anyone who keeps walking or reacts late is almost certainly a player.

Tag suspicious suspects. Only fellow guards can see your markers.

Tear down posters hung up by photographers.

Catch a photographer with your stick to eliminate them and deduct 2 points from their score. However, hitting an innocent NPC burns one of your 3 strikes, so don't swing blindly!

Who Wins?

Every photo snapped and poster put up is recorded on a shared scoreboard visible to both teams. If the board fills up before time runs out, the photographers win. If the guards eliminate all photographers or time expires, the guards win.

At the end of each round, the park newspaper is published: featuring the closest photo taken, the most photographed guard, and the photographer who stayed hidden the longest.

Features

1–16 players online via Steam. Invite friends, share room codes, or set private room passwords.

Play solo or fill empty team slots with smart bots.

40 unique costumes (chef, cowboy, balloon vendor, golfer, grandma...), each in two color variants. NPCs and players share the exact same wardrobe.

NPCs don't just walk around: they enter buildings, take photos of each other, and change outfits once per round. Changing clothes doesn't automatically mean someone is a player!

Host controls: customize round duration, number of photographers and guards, crowd size, and photo delivery delay.

If eliminated, spectate the remainder of the round through your teammates' eyes.

Includes a quick tutorial covering both roles.

Full support for 31 languages.
