About This Game

In a world where Heaven is real, angels occasionally descend to Earth for reasons beyond human understanding. Many chase after these visitations in hopes of witnessing Heaven's light and being granted entrance to the land above, and in Joel's case - to reunite with his deceased wife.

DEVOUT is a survival horror game about a grieving young man's last attempt to be granted the desires he believes he is owed. Pray and show your devotion to ward off and quell the strange things you encounter as you make your way to your final destination.

PRAYER IS YOUR ONLY DEFENSE

You are not armed, but you are not defenseless. Showing your devotion through prayer will protect you and ward off the threats and horrors that come your way. Take up your prayer book as you plead for your own safety.

Even when you do obtain a weapon, it is not for the things that stand in your way.

Explore an atmospheric world shaped by devotion and despair. Search abandoned buildings, navigate crypts and cemeteries, solve puzzles, and piece together the stories of those who came before you. DEVOUT contains disturbing imagery, blood and gore, mutilated corpses, depictions of crucifixion, and scenes of violence and death. The game features intense horror sequences, religious imagery, and themes of suffering, sacrifice, and religious fanaticism.

Gameplay also involves a self-inflicted injury mechanic, in which the player may deliberately wound themselves to strengthen their prayers.
