A free-to-play 5v5 MOBA on a fault line that changes as you fight. Fords open and close with day and night, and new paths tear open mid-match. Pick from 34 heroes, then build your own maps, modes and heroes in the same editor Feudmaker was made with.

About This Game

Feudmaker is a free-to-play MOBA for two teams of five. Pick a hero, win your lane, take objectives, and destroy the enemy Core. The battlefield is the Rift, a fault line between the realms of Verdance and Cindermark, and it changes as the match goes on: the safe routes at minute five are not the safe routes at minute twenty.

A map that moves

  • Fords that follow the clock. The river crossings trade places with day and night. One opens, then the other closes after a warning.
  • The First Tear. At 10:00 the Rift splits open new trails from the jungles to the river.
  • The Breach. At 20:00 a path breaks through the treeline into each base, away from the lanes.
  • Rift Shards. Each new path leaves a shard at its centre. Take it and your team earns 10% more experience for a minute.

34 heroes

Every hero has four abilities, a role, and a choice of two perks every five levels, all the way to level 30. Rootwarden roots the enemy and shields allies from the front line. Thornshot crits, dodges and blinks out of trouble. Sapwright heals, slows and sustains a whole team with two auras. Cinderseer has the biggest magic burst in the game and the frailest body. Vermaul never fights alone: ratkin pour out at his call.

Gold, items and Riftmaw

Last-hit creeps and clear jungle camps for gold, then spend it on 70 items, from an early Ember Flask to a late-game Quakehammer. The shop shows exactly what an item will do to your stats before you buy it. Runes appear on the river for whoever reaches them first, and neutral camps drop items where they fall. In its pit by the river waits Riftmaw. Bring it down to claim the Maw Heart: the hero who carries it gets back up five seconds after dying.

Your match, your rules

The host sets up every match:
  • The draft: All Pick, Captains Mode, Single Draft, All Random, or one hero for everyone.
  • The Rift: Full, Wild (the tears come early), fords only, or a still map.
  • The Rites: at night, Verdance heroes heal and quicken in their own jungle; Cindermark heroes harden near their towers, and the towers' shots burn.
  • Turbo: double gold and experience for a shorter game.
  • Classic: a still map and the classic rune set.
Play online with friends through Steam, against bots, or both. If a player drops, a bot takes over their hero until they rejoin. Level up each hero to unlock voice lines and chat emotes of its own.

Build your own

Feudmaker is a creation kit as much as a game. The Rift was made in the map editor on the main menu, and you can open the Rift itself as a starting point. Or start from a template:
  • Tower defense, or 10-player co-op defense
  • Siege: hold the keep
  • Horde survival, or survive three nights
  • A boss raid
  • A 1v1 duel pit
Paint terrain, place camps, shops and buildings, write triggers as plain sentences, and copy any hero or unit to make your own. Then host it online: players who don't have your map get it from the lobby.
