About This Game

Your daughter Fien is asleep upstairs. Outside, the dead come out of the trees, and the light in her window is the one light left.

One Light Left is a tower defense survival game about holding one house. Between the waves you build: machine guns, snipers, mortars and tesla coils, walls and gates, watchtowers you can stand on, and traps along the paths the horde takes. During the waves you fight alongside them, on foot in third or first person, or you command from above.

A base that has to work

Everything you place takes time to build. Your turrets need power, so you place generators and lay every cable yourself, and a zombie that breaks a cable cuts the line. Ammo depots send drones to refill your magazines. When the horde gets in, it goes for the house.

The horde comes from everywhere

Twenty-one kinds of dead, from shamblers and runners to diggers that tunnel under your walls and a brood mother that calls her young out of the ground. No two look alike. They come from every direction, by day and by night, through rain, fog, wind and thunderstorms. And halfway through a wave the power can fail, a cable can snap, or the whole horde can break into a run.

Drive out for what you need

Take your car to the factory, the shopping street, the hospital and the military base. Solve the puzzle that guards the vault and bring home blueprints for new turrets, traps and upgrades. Armour your car for the longer trips.

A father and a daughter

Fien draws what happens on the wall of her room. Fix her mother's radio and listen together. Somewhere on the coast, there may be a camp.

The developers describe the content like this:

One Light Left has frequent combat against zombies: they are shot, burned and blown up, with blood effects, and body parts can be severed. Bodies of dead survivors lie in the world. The violence is shown in a stylized, low-poly art style. The story deals with loss: a father protects his young daughter while her mother is missing. The child is never harmed or put in danger.
