What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Eichmark is made by one developer. Since the first playable version, playtesters have shaped almost every system - battles, sieges, the camp at night, the way people talk. Early Access lets far more players do the same, while the game grows people by people.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“About 12 to 18 months, depending on what players need most.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“More peoples, each with its own story and its own characters,. More side stories in the open world after the main story. An English version with voices and further languages. More balance and polish, shaped by player feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“A complete main story in one land: a prologue and four chapters, then an open world to keep playing. On foot through the land with your column, real-time regiment battles, sieges with rams, catapults and ladders, regiment trees, villages to build up, noble houses with their own politics, the camp at night with voices and graves, taverns with dice, cards and tournaments. Fully voiced in German with subtitles; an English version is planned.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I plan to raise the price step by step as larger content arrives. Players who join early pay the least.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Through the Steam discussions and regular playtests. Every update comes with a detailed changelog inside the game, so you can see what changed and why - often because a player asked for it.”

About This Game

The night Eichenfurt burns is only the beginning.

On the Graufels, the warchief Grash gathers his horde. Between you and him: bandit gangs, three noble houses with plans of their own, and a land that is falling apart.

Judge the man who burned your village. Stand before the count in his hall. People argue with you, push back and never forget what you did. Every conversation is fully voiced.

Your men fight in blocks: flanks, charges, courage that breaks. Pause at any time and give orders.

Build a ram or a catapult, raise the ladders, break the gate. Behind the wall waits the inner keep and its lord. Take a castle, and it is yours.

Every regiment has a voice at the fire. It tells you what the day has cost. Those who fall get a grave - and someone else speaks for their people.

Free villages and make them your own: fields, mills, breweries, farmers and burghers, roads between your holdings.

Dice, cards and tournaments

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

- Character voices, some songs and some sound effects: AI-generated
- Coding: AI-assisted

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

Eichmark is a game about medieval war. In battles, soldiers, orcs and beasts fight and die. Hits show small spurts of blood; there is no dismemberment. The story begins with a burned village and deals with loss, captivity and revenge. The player decides the fate of prisoners, including an execution, which is not shown. In taverns, characters drink beer and play dice, cards and bets for in-game gold only, never real money.
