About This Game

The TV-headed Supreme Chancellor answers a telephone at a bureaucratic desk while wind-up robot soldiers queue with paperwork.
Iron Curtain Call is a fast single player FPS: a retro boomer shooter drawn as a 1930s rubber hose cartoon, and a comedy about World War III in an absurd alternate 1965. Old school arena fights, nonstop movement and a free demo on Steam: Chapter 1, Rubbleton, from a crashed cargo plane to the first boss, Major Disaster. The full game, all 12 chapters, launches on March 11, 2027 (11 March 2027) for Windows and macOS. It is a retro FPS at boomer shooter speed, set in 1965, a Cold War year that went hot as World War 3 against an army of wind up tin robots, and every frame is drawn like a 1930s rubber hose cartoon. Try the free demo on Steam.

Your war is important to us. Please hold.

World War III. Third time’s the charm.

Iron Curtain Call is a fast-paced single-player FPS where a rubber-hose cartoon has been drafted into an alternate 1965. You are Corporal Punishment: a silent soldier with a very loud answer to the Directorate’s wind-up robot army. Colonel Panic is on the radio. The Supreme Chancellor is on every loudspeaker. Diplomacy has left the building.

“I’d send backup, but you are the backup.” Colonel Panic

The Daily Rubble: Humanity ran out of soldiers. They built robots. Welcome to Rubbleton. Population: declining.

A white-gloved first-person punch sends a wind-up robot soldier tumbling through flying bolts and shattered masonry.
Keep moving. Keep punching. Side effects include survival.

Keep moving. Keep the scrap flying.

Double-jump, air-dash and grapple through arenas built for aggressive movement. Close the distance for a Knuckle Sandwich to recover health, crack open an enemy with the Can Opener for ammunition, and use the Hot Take shoulder flamethrower to feed your armor. Parry pink attacks and build toward an Encore when the crowd needs a bigger finish.

A workshop display of the Diplomat shotgun, Typewriter automatic weapon and ribbon-wrapped Care Package launcher.
Diplomacy has left the building. Strongly worded. Heavily armed.

An arsenal with terrible manners

Make your point with the Diplomat, let the Typewriter do the talking, and deliver an explosive Care Package. Discover new weapons and equipment as the campaign unfolds, from the electric Telegram to a freezing Snow Globe. Swap tools, exploit openings and turn a crowded room of tin soldiers into spare parts.

Theatrical portraits of Major Disaster, the Motherboard and Senator Filibuster framed by red curtains and factory machinery.
Meet middle management. Promoted beyond all reason.

A war that refuses to stay on script

Fight through bombed-out streets, an industrial robot factory, a broadcast tower and an election carnival where the rides are part of the problem. The campaign keeps changing the stage with ambushes, moving set pieces, secrets and larger than life mechanical bosses, including the Motherboard, who takes factory discipline personally.

Cartoon spectacle. Bureaucratic nightmare.

Ink-lined environments, theatrical character designs, propaganda broadcasts and a swing-noir soundscape frame a satirical war machine running on bad orders and worse slogans. Robots burst into bolts, springs and scrap as the show gets steadily more out of hand.

  • A single-player campaign with distinct chapters, checkpoints and selectable difficulty.
  • Fast first-person combat built around mobility, weapon switching and close-range resource recovery.
  • Pink-attack parries, the Encore super and equipment that expands your combat options.
  • Boss encounters, environmental hazards and action set pieces.
  • Secrets and end-of-mission grades that reward another run.

A note from the solo dev: I'm Ekin, a solo developer in Istanbul. Whale Development Studios is one person building games with AI agents. The Directorate is a million tin robots, and the studio is one person in Istanbul. I wrote the story, the dialogue and the jokes, designed every level, and play and test every build. The demo is free, and if it made you laugh, a wishlist helps Steam show the game to more players.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Iron Curtain Call is made by a solo developer in Istanbul (Whale Development Studios is one person). I wrote the story, the dialogue and the jokes, designed every level, and play and test every build. No voice was cloned from a real person for this game. The weapons and many sound effects use real recordings.

I used AI tools for the following content that ships with the game.
Voices: every spoken line is synthetic speech generated with ElevenLabs.
Music and sound: some music cues (including the main menu theme) and a number of sound effects were generated with ElevenLabs. The rest of the score was composed as code by AI coding agents and rendered with sample libraries.
Art and video: the painted pictures in menus and on screens (character portraits, posters, newspaper photos, medals, badges, mission cards), the short newsreel and intro clips, and some of the store page art and trailer footage were generated with Higgsfield. The 3D models are built by scripts written with AI coding agents.
Text: the translations of the text inside the game and of this store page were prepared with AI assistance.

All of this was made before release. Nothing is generated while you play, and the game does not connect to any AI service.
