What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We want players — including people who know air defense first-hand — to shape the game while it grows. The core defense gameplay is complete; your feedback will decide which missions, cities and features come next.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“About 9–12 months.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“FPV strike missions, 2–4 player co-op defense, new cities and maps, more threat types and air defense assets, more campaign missions.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The full air defense loop is playable: a 10-mission night campaign, an endless raid, interceptor and gunner training and free flight. Play as an interceptor drone pilot, a ZU-23-2 or pickup gunner, or run the air defense post. Interface in English, Ukrainian and Russian.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price may increase as major features are added. Everyone who buys in Early Access gets all updates for free.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Through the Steam discussions and our social channels: we read every report, run polls on what to build next and post a devlog every two weeks.”

About This Game

From the developer

Shahed Hunters is being made by the 15-year-old son of one of our team members. He lives 20 km from the front line and sees air raids like these almost every day.

The sirens are on. Dozens of Shahed drones are crossing the border, heading for the power substation of your town. Every one you miss is a blackout, a burning block, a night without heat.

Shahed Hunters is a first-person air defense simulator. Fight the raid from three seats:
  • Interceptor pilot — launch a Sting or P1-SUN interceptor drone from its stand, follow the radar track and catch the Shahed in the dark with night and thermal cameras.
  • Gunner of a mobile fire team — ZU-23-2 or a pickup with a 14.5 mm KPVT heavy machine gun and a searchlight. Lead the target, walk the tracers in, listen for the engine.
  • Air defense commander — deploy your guns, interceptors and relays, assign targets from the radar map, spend batteries and ammo wisely.

Features

  • Realistic flight physics: a 240 Hz quadcopter model, real aerodynamics for the Shahed, jet Gerans and recon drones, an interceptor that can actually catch them.
  • Your FPV radio just works: calibration wizard, Betaflight rates, AUX switches for arming, modes and camera. Keyboard + mouse and gamepad are full-featured too.
  • A procedurally generated town with Soviet panel blocks, private houses and an industrial zone that remembers every hit: holes, rubble, fires — and blocks going dark when the substation is damaged.
  • Component damage and fragmentation: the warhead, the engine, the wing — not a health bar.
  • Decoys, acoustic posts, radar network, relay drones, radio shadow behind buildings, your own electronic warfare against satellite navigation.
  • A 10-mission night campaign with medals, an endless raid with records, interceptor and gunner training, Free Hunt — endless targets on your terms.
  • Sound from real recordings: the drone's moped drone getting closer, the heavy gun's bursts, the click of an empty belt, the air raid siren.
  • Battle debrief: what you shot down, what you missed, what it cost.
Early Access. The defense is complete and playable; next come FPV strike missions, co-op defense for 2–4 players and new cities.
