A 1v1 card battle over three locations, fought with cards inhabited by yokai. When a round ends, the side with more attack power at a location takes it. Your character attacks directly, too, and you build a deck of exactly 30 cards.

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“JANYANG is a 1v1 competitive card game. Card balance and rules are best refined through real matches between real players. During Early Access, we plan to tune the competitive environment based on your matches and feedback, and to expand the card and character roster over time.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan for Early Access to last roughly 6 to 12 months. This may change depending on the state of the game and development; if it does, we will say so in a Steam announcement.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“During Early Access, we plan to add more characters and cards, add cosmetics such as card backs and titles along with more Weekly Boss content, support additional languages, and improve deckbuilding and interface usability. We will retain the current structure of roughly eight-week seasons with daily and weekly missions, a Season Pass, and a Weekly Boss. What we add and when may change based on the competitive environment and your feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current version includes 1v1 matches (Online Match and AI Practice), eight playable characters, and deckbuilding with exactly 30 cards. You can play solo chapters and Solo Runs, take on the Weekly Boss, complete daily and weekly missions, progress through the Season Pass, collect cards, and craft them using Dust. Visual effects, some text, and balance are still being polished.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“JANYANG is free to play. We plan to keep it free to play both during Early Access and after full release. Lamp Oil, the in-game currency, can be earned by playing and spent on randomized pulls (Bond Pulls and Card Packs). Rates for each rarity and the guarantee rules are shown in the game.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We will gather feedback through our support email (contact@sequencegames.gg) and the card feedback feature on the JANYANG website. We will share changes in patch notes and explain how your feedback informs the competitive environment and future content.”

About This Game

JANYANG — the echo that lingers after the city goes quiet.

Fight for Three Locations

Every match is fought across three locations, and each one has its own effect and its own quest. When a round ends, the side with more attack power at a location takes it. Deciding where to commit your cards, and which location to give up, is a play in itself.

Your Character, Your Deck

The eight characters each have their own abilities and awakening. Your character fights too, attacking directly. Build a deck of exactly 30 cards, and when a match ends, swap one card and head back in.

Play Solo

Take on chapters, Solo Runs, and a weekly boss, or practice against the AI at a slow, normal, or fast pace. Collect and craft cards, and copy a deck to share it with a deck code.

Features

  • 1v1 battles: 75-second turns, three locations, four slots per location by default

  • Eight characters, each with its own abilities and an awakening

  • Decks of exactly 30 cards, with search, filters, and an opening-hand swap

  • Solo play: chapters, Solo Runs, and a weekly boss

  • Collect and craft cards

  • Copy and share decks with deck codes

  • Practice against the AI at a speed you choose

  • Includes randomized in-game items (rates are shown in the game)

Randomized Items

This game includes randomized items: Lamp Oil can be spent on Bond Pulls and Card Packs. Rates for each rarity and the guarantee rules are shown in the game, under [Rates & guarantees].
