What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“DAYON is being developed as a sandbox online open-world game where combat, progression, the economy, vehicles, NPCs, everyday activities, and ownership systems interact to create unexpected situations. Early Access will allow us to evaluate how these systems work together through real player experiences, beyond what we can test internally.
During Early Access, we plan to refine combat balance and skill progression, improve the in-game economy and interactions with vehicles and NPCs, and address multiplayer stability and performance. We also plan to expand the city and the activities available to players.
We are committed to continuing development throughout Early Access. Player feedback and bug reports will help us identify problems, adjust priorities, and improve these systems through ongoing updates. Our goal is to develop a more cohesive, stable, and engaging experience as we work toward a full release.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently expect DAYON to remain in Early Access for approximately [6–10 months] after its Early Access launch. During this period, we plan to improve the core systems and expand the city and playable content.
This timeframe is an estimate, not a fixed release deadline. It may change depending on development progress, multiplayer testing, and player feedback.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The initial Early Access version will focus on the core areas of DAYON and the fundamental structure of life, ownership, progression, vehicles, combat, and exploration.
As development continues, we plan to add new city districts and building interiors, professions and skills, vehicles and equipment, activities and events, and eventually expand the playable world toward the massive wall and the regions beyond it.
Specific content and the order of development may change based on player feedback and development progress.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“DAYON is currently in active development.
Major foundation systems are being implemented and tested within the open-world city, including character movement, vehicles and traffic, NPC crowds, character customization, inventory, housing, combat, and a day-and-night cycle synchronized with real-world time.
The Early Access version will provide a playable build centered around city areas and core systems that have reached a suitable level of quality, with the world and content continuing to expand through future updates.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Pricing may be adjusted based on the stage of development and the amount of available content.
The final price for the full release has not yet been decided. If the price changes in the future, we plan to communicate those changes in advance.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan to actively review feedback through the Steam Community and other official channels, including bug reports, balance, game systems, usability, and the overall gameplay experience.
Because DAYON places particular importance on unexpected interactions between players and systems, both interesting situations that emerge during play and areas that cause frustration or inconvenience will be valuable sources of information for development.
Not every suggestion will necessarily be implemented, but we plan to actively consider player feedback while continuing development within the overall direction and vision of DAYON.”

About This Game

An Open World Where You Can Live However You Want.
A Unique Progression System Built Around Dozens of Skills, Not Levels.

"Live however you want."

DAYON features a unique progression system where your character's identity is determined by dozens of skills rather than levels or predefined classes. The skills you learn and combine shape your character's abilities, role, and way of life.

Train in firearms, tactics, parkour, and defense to become the ultimate hunter, hunting Scourge every night.

Learn fishing, cooking, and bargaining skills to enjoy night fishing, decorate your own hideout, and live a leisurely life.

Train in stealing, stealth, and disguise to follow the path of a notorious thief who targets other players' possessions.

Learn mechanical knowledge and taming skills to make old robots your companions and explore dangerous areas, or train in first aid and medicine to become a professional rescuer who saves fallen teammates in battle.

You don't have to engage in combat or take risks. You can find work and earn money in the city, own a home and vehicles, build relationships with other players, and create your own daily routine.

Which skills you learn, which path you take, and who you choose to become are entirely up to you.

There is no fixed progression path that everyone must follow in DAYON. The life you choose becomes your character's progression.

The City Within the Massive Wall, PORTRANE

DAYON is a sandbox online open-world game where life and ownership, combat and exploration take place in a single persistent world.
Portlane is a near-future metropolis surrounded by a massive wall, isolated from the outside world.
With an urban area of approximately 16 km² and a total of 512 km of sidewalks accessible to players, it is a massive city being developed from the outset to accommodate tens of thousands of players simultaneously in the same space.

The city will be a densely packed world featuring hideouts and buildings that players can own, PvE mission areas, lawless PvP zones, shops, and a wide variety of content.

A Living, Breathing City

The city of DAYON is more than just a backdrop.

Day and night follow real-world time, while crowds, traffic, building lights, and certain events and missions change depending on the time of day.

Residential and commercial districts naturally connect with unstable areas affected by crime, as well as closed-off and abandoned zones where exploration and combat take place.

A Sandbox Shaped by Its Systems

The freedom DAYON aims for is not simply about increasing the number of activities available.

Players, NPCs, vehicles, physics, combat, and life systems interact with one another, creating situations that cannot be fully produced through predetermined sequences alone.

Rather than simply consuming content in a prescribed way, players are free to act within the city, encounter unexpected situations, and create their own stories — one of the core experiences DAYON is built around.

Live, Take Risks, and Come Back

The city is a place where your home, vehicles, equipment, and skills continue to accumulate over time.

In dangerous areas, players can find new resources and opportunities through combat and exploration, then return to the city and invest in what they have built. Life and combat are designed not as separate forms of content, but as parts of a single continuous gameplay loop.

A World Expanding Beyond the Wall

The initial Early Access release will focus on life within DAYON, including combat, ownership, and character progression.

As development continues, new districts and activities will be added to the city, eventually expanding the playable world toward the massive wall and the regions beyond it. The wall is not simply a map boundary, but a physical structure that exists within the world itself, separating DAYON from the outside world.

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

DAYON contains mature content including firearm violence, blood, death, criminal activity, strong language, and depictions or references to alcohol, tobacco, drugs, and other adult themes. The intensity of these elements may vary depending on the location, activity, or situation encountered in the game.
