Arcade football where the ball sticks to whoever touches it. Dash to steal it, shoot it along the line you push it, and throw your character's magic: a hat that becomes a hole, a slowed-down world, two decoys. 1v1 or 3v3 with friends or bots. Three minutes, at least one blunder.

About This Game

Blunderball is arcade football with the rules boiled down to what you can do with a ball and a body: run into it and it's yours, shove the carrier and it isn't, and shoot by pushing the ball where you want it to go. No kick button, no tactics menu, no offside. Matches last three minutes, and four to nil ends it early.

The ball

  • Grab by touching. The ball sticks to whoever reaches it first.

  • Shoot along the line. The ball leaves along the line from you through it. Steer it around you while you run, then let it go.

  • Dash and shove. A dash into another player sends them bouncing. A dash into the ball carrier is how you get the ball back.

  • Jump. A ball in the air is a ball nobody is holding.

Six characters, six magics (right mouse button, then a cooldown)

  • King — Gust: three seconds of wind across the whole pitch, on players and on the ball.

  • Imp — Hotfoot: six seconds of starting, stopping and turning like nobody else.

  • Rookie — Blink: a jump of fourteen metres the way you push. Land on a player and the ball is yours.

  • Angel — Sanctum: everyone but you slows down for two seconds.

  • Hacker — Decoys: two copies of you run off, with a fake ball if you had the real one.

  • Gentleman — Hat Trick: your hat flies ahead and becomes a hole in the pitch that swallows whoever is on it, then throws them out.

How you play

  • 1v1 on a small pitch, 3v3 on the big one. In 3v3 you switch between your team's players, and the places rotate after every goal.

  • Bots fill every empty seat, on three difficulty levels. They pass, press and shoot. A match is always one click away, with nobody online.

  • Up to six people online. Host a match, friends join, pick sides and characters in the lobby, chat, and start when everyone is in.

  • Outnumbered: in single player, take your team of three against four, five or six.

  • Three arenas: day, night and sunset, floating over a sea of clouds.

  • A tutorial that teaches the whole game in five short levels.

  • Replays: the goal of the match plays at the end, from the ball, from any player's seat or from a free camera, at any speed.
