About This Game

Table Night is a party board game for 1 to 8 players where you can try anything. Every round you choose what to do, throw your dice and watch each turn play out on the board while the map expands with the story. A friend, the game itself or an LLM can be the game master, and the last one standing wins.

Write anything, roll for it

Move, attack, use an item or open a door, or press ACT and write whatever you want to try. The game master says how hard it is, your d20 decides, and the game does the math.

Turns go one by one on every screen, in the order the dice landed. Your number slams onto the screen, what you wrote types out while your piece goes and does it, and the verdict gets stamped: DISASTER, FAILS, AT A COST, WORKS or CRITICAL! Roll a natural 20 and the game proves you right: whatever your action took for granted shows up on the board.

A board that comes alive

Every match starts from a short story with its own map. The tabletop splits open, the board rises out of it and unfolds, a sky dome shows the hour and the weather, and the map expands every time the story opens a new place.

Fire spreads from tile to tile and water puts it out. Rooms flood, floors give way and lightning strikes where it was marked the round before. When the lights go out you only see the rings everyone leaves as they move, and creatures only find you if your rings reach them. Walls can be broken, dumpsters make hiding spots, and cars drive you to new places until the gas runs out.

Every match has an ending

Events get worse in phases until the finale. Play Last one standing, Until everyone falls, Survive the rounds, or Record when you're alone. At the end the map sinks into the board, the graveyard shows everyone's tombstone and how they died, and the points of the night carry over to the next match.

Your table, your game master

  • A friend: they judge every action and use a wheel of tools to move creatures, open new rooms, and start fires, floods and earthquakes.

  • The game itself: it judges on its own, no setup needed.

  • An LLM: the host connects their own account with a provider (Groq, Google AI Studio, OpenRouter, OpenAI, Anthropic or any OpenAI-compatible service; some have free plans), and the key never leaves their PC. The LLM judges what everyone writes and narrates each turn, while the dice, the damage and every death are still decided by the game. It's told to keep everything fit for teens, anything off-limits a player writes gets crossed out so nobody else reads it, and what players write is sent to the host's provider.

In the lobby the host also picks the story, the mode, friendly fire, the time to write and which cards are in play.

Make your own cards

In the Collection you can make your own cards for every deck: starting stories, events, twists, luck, mishaps and rooms. Choose what they do from the game's effects or let the game decide when the card comes up, build the starting map in 3D, and share any card with a code.

Features

  • 1 to 8 players online through Steam (public or friends only), over LAN or direct IP, or solo offline.

  • Over a dozen starting stories and well over a hundred cards.

  • Five tables to play at, from a square table for 4 to an octagon for 8.

  • Physics dice you throw yourself, with skins you unlock by playing.

  • Your piece, your way: 10 colors and 11 fonts for your name.

  • Text chat with speech bubbles over every piece.

  • Mouse and keyboard or controller.

  • English and Spanish.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Table Night has an optional AI LLM game master: if the host turns it on with their own AI account, a language model narrates the match and judges what players write, while the game rolls the dice and decides every result. The AI is instructed to keep everything suitable for teens. Players' text is sent to the host's AI provider, and any table can be played with a human game master or none instead.
