Feudal Japan. The period of war... also known as Sengoku Jidai. You are a Japanese swordsmith, or Katanakaji, if you will. You have started your own forge. The warlords need katana for their samurai and campaigns. Right now, you are a nobody. But you have heard the calling of your destiny. 

You will become a legendary swordsmith and your name will be heard throughout all of Japan!

The katanakaji has one job: to forge the very best katana a craftsman can make. From tamahagane to a billet, you will hammer out your metal to take shape. Upon the blade, you will choose your hamon and clay the blade. You will find the perfect temperature to reheat your blade, and then submerge it in water for the quench. Will the blade survive? Or will it fail? You will polish your blade to perfection and reveal your creation! But your work is not done...

You will have many fittings at your fingertips. Tsuba, habaki, seppa, tsuka, ito, menuki, fuchi and kashira, and the saya will come together to form a national treasure. But you must increase your skill to create the most perfect, deadly, work of art.

Katanakaji is a cozy, warm forge built from the ground up, just like the katana you will create. You do not have to become a metallurgy expert to create beauty.

• Create your perfect katana by learning the forge and how your metal reacts to temperature. Overheat it and your katana will fail. Find perfection in the heat and reveal a legendary blade

• 4 distinct "mini-games" at each point in the process determine the quality of your blade

• Each blade has quality stats that determine the blade tier. Your expertise, and a little luck, determine these stats

• Take on contracts to earn renown, mon, and the ability to increase your arsenal of fittings to create a katana of legend

• Keep/Sell/Contract out your swords. But, inventory is limited, and you can only keep a limited amount on your sword racks... So plan ahead before you start your next blade 

• Sometimes luck and fate play their parts. The very best swords, sometimes have a small percentage "drop rate"

• Easy to learn and relaxing controls

• Changing time and weather to give the forge atmosphere and character while you are working on your craft

• A tea drinking save system. When you want to save the game, and are not on a project, pour yourself some tea
