What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“I would like players to play the game, and provide me valuable feedback on what I can change and how I can make the game better for everyone playing. It has the core mechanics that the game is based around, but if there are bugs or features which the players want to add, to include graphical assets, I will be happy to accommodate. ”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I anticipate it being in early access for 1-2 months.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“I would like to add more game modes by the time the game hits full release. There are 24 current game modes, but I would like to include more visually appealing and fun multiplayer competitive modes!”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Contest LAB is currently playable on Windows with 24 active trials testing reaction time, precision, keyboard control, memory, timing, and multitasking. Players can practice individual trials, attempt the Normal and Hard Gauntlets and unlock Perfect difficulty, track personal bests, climb trial leaderboards, and customize their LAB ID and calling card.
Online play includes public and private rooms, 1v1, 2v2, and free-for-all matches for up to 16 players. Hosts can choose trials or randomize the lineup. Online matches are currently unranked and player-hosted. During Early Access, we’re continuing to refine trial balance, presentation, and multiplayer reliability, so players may encounter bugs and see systems change.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Gradually increase the price as new game modes and features are rolled out!”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Through discord and reviews!”

About This Game

PUBLIC PARTICIPANTS REQUESTED

Contest LAB is accepting volunteers for 24 controlled trials of reaction speed, mouse precision, keyboard accuracy, memory, timing, and coordination.

Each trial explains what to do. Meeting the standard is your problem.

TEST DIFFERENT SKILLS

Hit targets, trace paths, recall sequences, type under pressure, navigate unfamiliar spaces, and manage several demands at once. Practice individual trials, improve your personal bests, and find out which skills you need to brush up on.

RUN THE GAUNTLET

Face the trials in one continuous evaluation. Pass each requirement to advance; fail one and the run ends. Normal establishes your baseline, Hard raises the standard, and Perfect awaits those who prove themselves. Complete the run and your final time becomes the score to beat.

COMPETE ONLINE

Enter a public room or create a private one with a join code. Up to 16 participants can compete in free-for-all or team formats. Hosts can select trials, randomize the lineup, or send the room through the Gauntlet.

REVIEW YOUR FILE

Track your results across repeated attempts, complete challenges, unlock calling-card titles, and compare your scores on the leaderboards.

Participation is voluntary. Repeated attempts are permitted. Unexpected frustration is considered normal.

Meridian Human Systems Labs thanks you for your participation.
