What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Cubic Earth is an extremely large project: it covers our entire planet, after all. To that end, we'd like the community's input and guidance in figuring out the long term identity of the game!”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We aim to complete the game within 12 months, however, this is only an estimate. There is a tremendously large amount of content to deal with, so it may take more time.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“In general, we'd like to offer a much larger degree of simulation. We have a large list of prospective features, which includes (but is not limited to):

- Cars
- Trains
- Planes
- Boats
- Submarines
- More Accurate Native Flora
- Animals and Insects

In addition, we'd love to have manually refined major landmarks and more interesting building interiors. The goal is ultimately to provide a product with the most comprehensive adventure experience of Earth as it exists in our real world.

We're not sure if everything will make the cut as the game takes shape, but we'll do our best to keep everyone updated on the roadmap and how things change over time. ”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“You can fly, walk, and hang glide around a best-effort 1:1 scale voxel re-creation of earth, represented at a 0.5 meter resolution. Interiors are present for all structures, but are extremely limited (e.g. no furniture or useful layout).”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“At the moment, there are no concrete plans to raise the price. However, as more features are added, this may become something we are interested in doing. We will always make an effort to keep the price fair and notify the community of these changes well in advance. ”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Feedback, feedback, feedback! We'd love your feedback on everything we should do next, be it vehicles, flora, fauna, or some other thing we haven't thought of! We'll regularly be posting on social media to keep you up to date on the development outlook and roadmap of the project.

About This Game

GO ANYWHERE.

In Cubic Earth's Early Access release, you can fly, walk and hang glide around a 1:1 scale voxel recreation of the planet we all call home! You can go anywhere you'd like: your hometown, old workplace, New York City, Mount Everest, or somewhere you've never even heard of.

Across the entire planet, there are millions of locations to discover and (re) experience. Pick a random place and see where you end up, look for somewhere specific, or wander until you find something interesting. Either way, you're sure to come across something worth discovering!

Additionally, the game includes a freecam Photo Mode, enabling you to take epic screenshots of your surroundings and share them with your friends! Reminisce on an old memory, plan a trip, or create content with ease.
HIT THE STREETS!

Cubic Earth makes use of voxel technology to ensure a street level which remains coherent across the planet. Roads, trails, forests and more remain legible and navigable, unlike many planet-scale games. From places as iconic as Times Square to your local neighborhood, street level is accessible!

Familiar places can bring back memories you've long since forgotten, and new places can make for an amazing adventure. One of the most fun parts about Cubic Earth is not knowing what you'll find around the corner!

THE ROAD AHEAD.

As development continues, we hope to add even more amazing features to Cubic Earth! From terrain generator improvements to ensure a more accurate street level, to awesome stuff like cars and airplanes, we're looking to upgrade the experience substantially over time.

We can't be sure that everything will make the cut, but we'll do our best to keep the community up to date on the game's roadmap and future!
