About This Game

They LIED

Your consciousness has been uploaded to the metaverse. Instead of the utopia you were promised, you've been recruited into a cyber war for control of the world's hardware. Inside the machine, your team fights for territory, resources and the infrastructure that keeps the war running.

MetaVersus is a 4v4 tactical FPS where your team reshapes the battlefield between rounds. Claim territory, build your defenses and buy your equipment. Then drop into first person, fight for control and tear down the enemy's fortifications.

Build. Equip. Fight. Destroy. Repeat.

Your team builds the next round

Step into the overhead build view and plan together. Stack walls, raise firing positions, open new routes and place defenses where the enemy least wants them. Protect a relay with a shield dome. Put a turret on the approach. Give your squad a way around the choke point.

Your construction carries forward within the match. Reinforce what worked. Rethink what got everyone killed.

No stronghold is safe

A good defense gives the enemy a problem to solve. A better attack changes the problem.

Cut through smoke, plant C4, launch rockets or push under covering fire. Break player-built defenses and attack the infrastructure holding enemy territory together. Pilot an FPV payload drone into the fight and commit it to an explosive strike. Every wall, route and device changes the fight.

An arsenal with a few surprises

Bring plasma, heavy firepower and tactical gadgets into the same firefight. Buy a procedural weapon and watch its parts assemble into a gun with its own generated name, silhouette and behavior.

Deploy a shield wall when the push gets rough. Plant a jammer to disrupt enemy systems. Use the Neural Visor to inspect visible targets, or acquire a body lock with the Daemon Auto and hold the trigger for assisted fire.

Fight for the next advantage

In Competitive, each life matters. Win territory to fund construction, coordinate the team's spending and decide where to commit your defenses. The position you take this round can become the foundation of the next.

Build Crates add another decision: deploy the special construction you reveal, save it for later or recycle it for credits.

Learn the hardware. Break the plan.

Experiment with free construction and respawning combat in Deathmatch. Take the crown in King of the Hill, or sharpen your shooting in Trace Lab's Training drills.

Across dark hardware arenas, cyan and magenta traces mark a system under siege. Build something worth defending. Then give the other team a reason to fear it.

Metaversus. MetaverseUS, META vs. us.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

This game is a small passion project built with the help of AI-assisted tools. They allow me to attempt a scope that simply wouldn’t be financially possible otherwise.

AI is used as a tool, not as a substitute for creative direction or quality. Everything that makes it into the game is selected, reviewed, edited, implemented, and held to the same standard regardless of how it was produced.

For me, this technology is about lowering the barrier to creation. It gives small independent developers the ability to pursue ideas that once required studio-sized budgets.

Ultimately, I want the game to stand on its own. AI makes the project possible; it doesn’t lower the standard for the finished product.
