What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“The core of the game already works: guests who order and pay, kitchen, bar, dishwashing, pantry, deliveries and furnishing the hall. We want to tune the pace, balance and controls together with players — their feedback will show what feels good in the tavern and what gets in the way — and grow the guests, new dishes and new rooms on top of that.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Roughly 6–12 months. The timing depends on player feedback: we won't release the full version until the main plans from the next answer are done and polished.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to add:
- More kinds of guests: special guests with their own tastes, guests who judge the service and differ in patience.
- Unique guests with their own stories that unfold visit by visit.
- Events: fairs, festivals, visiting bards, changing weather.
- Gardening: grow your own vegetables and herbs for the kitchen.
- Helpers: hire staff to take some of the work off your hands.
- An end-of-day summary: earnings, tips, tavern reputation.
- Upgrades for the keeper (e.g. moving faster, carrying more on a tray) and new tavern rooms.
- Hall coziness: light, rugs and cleanliness affect guests' mood.
- New dishes and drinks, guest rooms on the second floor, your own brewing.
- More furniture and decor.
- Controller support, Steam Cloud saves and Steam achievements.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Right now you can: open the tavern and serve guests — they come in, order, pay and leave; cook in the kitchen (slicing, the cauldron, sandwiches on a tray), work the bar (taps, kegs, kettle, milk), wash dishes, manage the pantry, order supplies and furniture from the supply ledger with cart delivery, furnish the hall from a catalog of around 50 pieces, and keep the fireplace going. There is a day-night cycle and weather. Guest variety, the end-of-day summary and progression are still in development. Balance, the tutorial and parts of the interface are still being refined.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. As major updates arrive the price may go up. Everyone who buys during Early Access gets the full version of the game and all its updates at no extra cost.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We read the Steam discussions and bug reports, post news for every update, and ask players what we should add first.”

About This Game

Your tavern, by your own hands

Tiny Tavern is a cozy first-person tavern keeper sim. No menus doing the work for you: you slice, cook, pour, wash and arrange the furniture yourself.

Kitchen

  • Slice bread, cheese and vegetables with a knife on the cutting board.

  • Simmer stew in the cauldron over the hearth and serve it with a ladle.

  • Assemble sandwiches on a tray: bread, butter, cheese.

  • Keep your pantry in order: vegetable crates on the racks, milk pitchers, herbs.

Bar

  • Pour ale and mead from the taps and swap out empty kegs.

  • Boil the kettle, pour milk and herbal tea.

  • Wash mugs, plates and bowls and put the clean dishes back on the shelves.

Guests

  • Open the tavern — guests come in, take a seat and place an order.

  • Cook and serve, get paid, and welcome the next ones.

Furnishing

  • Around 50 pieces in the carpenter's catalog: tables, benches, counters, cabinets, candles, rugs, paintings.

  • Order supplies and furniture from the supply ledger — a cart brings your order to the courtyard.

  • Arrange everything your way and rearrange it any time.

Warmth and weather

  • Day and night, rain and fog outside the windows.

  • Keep feeding the fireplace to keep the hall warm.

Early Access

The game grows together with its players. See the Early Access section on this page for what comes next.
