What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Surf N Destroy combines momentum-driven surfing with multiplayer combat. Early Access gives us a way to refine how those systems work together with people playing real matches. We want player feedback on movement, course flow, combat balance, and the overall experience to help guide development. ”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently expect Surf n Destroy to be in Early Access for roughly six months. That estimate may change depending on player feedback and on what the community wants most from the full version.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to use Early Access to expand and polish what is already here. Our current plans include more stages and arenas, continued tuning of surf movement, combat and weapon balance, more events and variations built around Last Surfer Standing and Time Trial, more outfits, hats and charms to unlock through achievements, and ongoing improvements to online play, performance and accessibility. Exactly what we add, and in what order, will be shaped by player feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Surf n Destroy is fully playable today. It includes 16 stages, from The Relay to classic-style surf maps; Solo practice; Time Trial with timed laps and sector splits; and Last Surfer Standing rounds for up to 32 players on player-hosted online or local servers. Combat includes guns and knives, weapon and health pickups, and knife cut-through overtakes. Movement includes surfing, wall running and mantling, and interactive Surf School lessons teach the basics. The game also has online leaderboards, lap and match replays, 100 achievements that unlock outfits, hats and charms, and an in-game radio. The game is still in development, so expect bugs, rough edges, and changes to balance and content as we update it.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We don't plan to change the price when the game leaves Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan to involve players through the Steam Community hub and discussion forums, where we will read feedback and bug reports, post patch notes and development updates, and ask for input on upcoming features. Player feedback on movement, maps and balance will directly guide our priorities.”

About This Game

Bring a hot knife to a gunfight.

Surf N Destroy is a first-person combat racer for up to 32 players. Ride the ramps to build speed and heat your blade. When knives clash, the hotter one wins. Keep moving, line up your next shot, and fight to be the last surfer standing.

Surf At Full Speed

Link surf lines, wall runs, wall kicks and mantles into one continuous route. Carry your momentum through portals and find faster ways across the course. New to surfing? Work through 14 Surf School lessons against a ghost pacer, warm up against bots in the Warmup Arena, then take your own line in solo practice.

Last Surfer Standing

One life. Up to 31 rivals. Build heat on the ramps, close the gap with your knife, or grab an AK-47, shotgun or AWP and fire while surfing. Portals carry your shots, too. Get eliminated and keep moving in ghost practice, or spectate the survivors until the next round.

Chase Your Best

Race the clock in combat-free Time Trial and chase Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum medals on all ten Relay courses.

16 stages, endless layouts

Ten original five-sector courses, from The Relay to Marathon, plus six classic surf maps rebuilt with their original mappers credited and played by the rules they were made for. Share a generated arena's seed, stretch it up to four times longer, or keep the layouts changing with endless rotation. Everyone votes on the next map after each round.

Climb the leaderboards

Every course keeps its own boards for server-timed Time Trial laps, Survival wins and solo practice. Open any standing to compare its five sector splits with yours. If the player attached a replay, hit WATCH RUN and see exactly how they did it.

Watch it back

Every finished lap and every Last Surfer Standing round is saved to your replays, with every surfer in the match. Follow anyone, switch between first-person, chase, orbit and free-fly cameras, slow it down to 0.1× or step it tick by tick, and see each player's keys and mouse on their wrist. Trim your best moment, give it a title, and share it with an 8-character code.

Enter contests

Community contests run inside the game: fastest-lap challenges ranked by verified time, style contests decided by player votes, and screenshot contests for your best shots. Frame those shots in Photo Mode with six looks, lens and depth-of-field controls, and captures up to 2560×1440. You have to watch an entry before you can vote on it. First place takes home the Contest Champion crown.

Build your career

Your Career page tracks wins, eliminations, accuracy, headshot rate and K/D overall, per weapon and per map, season by season. Unlock 100 Steam achievements and earn outfits, hats and charms for a wardrobe of 48 outfits and 30 hats.

Fair play

Official servers run the match. Your game sends only your inputs, so the server decides positions, hits and kills. Report a player from inside the game, and moderators review the server's own recording of the round before suspending cheaters from public play. Contest laps are checked for impossible speeds, teleports and broken splits before they count.

Play together

Form a Steam party of up to 8, queue together and talk in party chat, or join friends straight from Steam. In the arena, proximity voice lets you hear the rivals closing in on you.

Your run, on your wrist. Speed, health and the lap clock live on your arm computer. Check your splits, standings, results and unlocks on the same glass you carry through the course.

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

Contains frequent combat violence with firearms and knives, blood splashes and pools, ragdoll deaths, and dismemberment. Players can be killed by other players, falls, and high-speed collisions.
