About This Game

Space Query 2 puts the real Solar System in your hands as it stands right now, down to the second, built on ephemeris data from NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory.

Fly freely from world to world, bend time, witness real astronomical events, and experiment with gravity.

Explore the Real Solar System

  • 26 worlds at their true positions: the Sun, all 8 planets, 15 major moons, Pluto and Charon, plus Voyager 2 along its actual trajectory.

  • Real sky events: predicts real solar and lunar eclipses, shadow transits of Io and Titan across Jupiter and Saturn, and the Perseid meteor shower. Click Go see to jump straight into the shadow path at the right moment.

  • Surface landmarks & spacecraft: drop down to planetary surfaces to inspect craters, canyons, and landing sites, or visit the ISS, Hubble, and the James Webb Space Telescope at Lagrange point L2.

  • Full time control: watch the system tick in real time, or scrub anywhere between 1950 and 2250 to see the sky on a specific date.

Simulation (Gravity Sandbox)

An N-body physics sandbox to test gravity freely or take on orbital mechanics challenges:

  • Place stars, rocky planets, gas giants, moons, comets, pulsars, or black holes—put them in stable orbits or fire them on collision courses.

  • Watch giant impacts carve continent-sized basins, stars merge, and moons shatter into rings as they cross the Roche limit.

Relive Space History

  • Apollo 11: the entire 8-day mission told chapter by chapter, synced to original NASA mission audio and archival footage, with manual docking and lunar descent.

  • Curiosity at Gale: plan the rover’s sols on real HiRISE satellite maps to find out whether ancient Mars could have supported life.

  • Lessons & Challenges: understand celestial mechanics hands-on, and test how well you know the Solar System’s terrain solo or with friends.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

AI tools were used to help write and translate the in-game text (descriptions, lessons, interface), with every text reviewed by the developer. All visuals come from real space mission imagery and in-engine renders; mission audio is original NASA archive material, and the music is licensed from human composers. No content is generated while you play.
