What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“The core salvage loop is playable, but the game will benefit from players testing the pace of progression, cooperative play, automation, and combat in many different situations. Early Access lets us gather that feedback while continuing to improve the experience.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect the game to remain in Early Access for roughly 6 months after its Early Access release. This estimate may change based on development progress and player feedback.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to refine progression and late-game pacing, improve onboarding and multiplayer reliability, and add more variety and polish to factory work, exploration, and encounters. These are development goals rather than guaranteed features or a fixed release schedule; priorities may change with testing and feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current build has a playable first-person salvage loop for solo play and online co-op with up to four players. Players can scan hardware wallets, earn fictional BiteCoin, upgrade personal gear, build shared production lines, use GPU and collection systems, explore locked rooms, and respond to thief raids. Balance, presentation, and network behavior are still being refined. Rejoining an active Steam session after disconnecting is not currently supported.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We do not plan to change the price during Early Access or when we leave Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Steam Community discussions will be our main channel for collecting suggestions and bug reports. We plan to use feedback about controls, onboarding, progression, co-op stability, and accessibility to set improvement priorities, adjust balance, and fix issues. We will also use Steam announcements to explain important updates and how player feedback has influenced those changes.”

About This Game

An old factory. A mountain of discarded hardware. Somewhere inside, a wallet could change your shift.

Crypto in a Haystack is a first-person salvage game for one to four players. Pull devices from the heap, scan hardware wallets for fictional BiteCoin, and decide what to do with the rest. Small finds help you improve your reader and carrying gear; larger finds can fund machines the whole team uses.

Build a working factory. Sort and process the growing pile with shared production lines and drones. Find GPUs for a mining workbench, recover collectible discs, and search locked rooms for clues and valuable equipment.

Keep an eye on the factory. Thieves can slip in from the dark, turning a quiet shift into a moving fight. Your teammates can help defend the pile—and friendly fire can make a bad night even worse.

Play solo or cooperate online with up to three friends. Clear the heap piece by piece and see what was hiding inside it. All coins and wallets in the game are fictional; there is no real cryptocurrency or real-money trading.
