What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Lucky's Scratch House is a hangout game, so it lives or dies on how it feels to waste an evening in the bar with friends. That's hard to tune alone. The core is already fun: pool, darts, cards, drinks, the jukebox, a bar full of patrons, and shoving people who deserve it. Early Access lets me find out what players actually do in the bar and build more of that, instead of guessing.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“About 3-6 months. That depends on feedback and on how much the community wants to see added before 1.0.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version will have more to do and more people to do it with. Planned additions include:

- New bar games, such as beer pong, shuffleboard, arm wrestling, karaoke and trivia night
- More gambling, keno and betting on TV races
- New NPCs, such as a pool hustler, a barback, a bookie, a bar pet, and a cop who turns up when things get rowdy
- Time-of-night bar events, more cosmetics and more music
- A deeper single-player tournament mode with tougher bots
- Polish, performance work and balancing based on player feedback”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“It's fully playable solo or with friends. Current features:

- Physics-based billiards and darts, with bot opponents in single-player
- Card games at the booths, plus scratch tickets and a money system
- Drinks, smoke breaks, a working jukebox, and a bar full of patrons who react to you
- Shoving, ragdolls, emotes, and tossing items around
- Session autosave and resume
- All features support Steam-based multiplayer up to 4 players.

Expect rough edges, placeholder content and the occasional bug.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“There will be a minor price increase at full release as content is added, so Early Access buyers get the best price.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I'll run a Discord and read the Steam forums, and I'll post regular update notes explaining what changed and why. Player feedback will decide which bar games and features get built next. Bug reports go straight into the to-do list. I'll also run occasional polls on bigger decisions, like which new games to add next.”

About This Game

Come for the pool. Stay until the bouncer throws you out.

Lucky’s Scratch House is a physics-based multiplayer bar hangout where a quiet night shooting pool can get out of hand. Bring your friends, grab a drink, pick something on the jukebox, and settle in for a few games. What happens between turns is up to you.

Shoot pool. Throw darts. Play your hand.

Grab a cue for 8-ball or 9-ball pool, step up to the dartboard for 301, 501, or Cricket, or take a seat at the card table for Blackjack and Texas Hold’em. Choose casual bar rules, tournament rules, or your own custom settings for pool and darts. Play for bragging rights, earn some spending money, and insist that last shot was intentional.

Make yourself at home.

Customize your character, order a beer from Lucky, and put on a song. Try your luck with a scratch ticket or spend the evening hanging around while your friends play. There’s always time for another round.

Try to behave.

Throw your drink, shove your friends, and discover how quickly everyone ends up on the floor. The regulars notice when you start causing trouble, and they might shove back. Pick a fight with Lucky and the bouncer will personally show you the exit.

Flying solo?

Challenge the bar’s regulars to pool, darts, or cards, practice your shots, or settle into the booth for solitaire. You don’t need a full group to spend a night at Lucky’s.

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

The game takes place in a bar setting and players can buy beer and cigarettes and then drink and smoke. NPCs that patronize the bar also have beer and cigarettes. Both players and NPCs can become intoxicated if they drink enough beer.
