About This Game

Grow your operation. Race the coast. Keep searching.

Trips May Vary is a first-person crime-life adventure set in Seaview, a neon seaside town built by raceheads who never stopped chasing the next finish line.

You play as Jay, a father whose plans for a better life collapse when a barn fire leaves his wife and daughter missing. A damaged Bio-Fuser lets you search other worlds, but opening portals requires seeds, and seeds cost money.

Build something worth coming home to.

Grow cannabis and mushrooms indoors or out. Fulfill orders, sell on the streets, and mark your territory with graffiti. Rebuild your island farm, expand your operation, and keep the search alive while the police watch your every move.

Race for the next trip.

Tear across Seaview’s coastal roads, racing for cash and cars. Drive your winnings, sell them, or strip them for parts. Every payday brings you closer to opening another portal.

Different world. Different rules.

Survive a kaiju battle. Become a mouse in a lantern-lit puzzle village. Escape oversized insects. Fight through a dungeon with a very unusual weapon. Every trip brings a new challenge, but the reason for taking it never changes.

Meet Gizmo. Try to get along.

Gizmo closes dangerous portals. Jay needs them open. Expect arguments, absurd situations, and an unlikely friendship as they learn to trust each other.

Build a life in Seaview. Risk it to bring your family home.

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

Trips May Vary is a crime-life adventure with mature themes. Players grow, package, and sell drugs as part of the core gameplay, including cannabis-style plants and mushrooms, and deal with police attention as a result. Drug use is not graphically depicted.

The game contains cartoon violence: melee and ability-based combat against fantasy creatures and a boss, and kaiju battles, with no blood or gore. One story scene includes a gunshot by police, shown off-screen.

The story deals with the loss of a family in a fire and a parent searching for his missing wife and child, which some players may find emotional.

The city includes nightclubs and a strip club exterior, with suggestive signage and no nudity. Mild language may appear.
