About This Game

RMRF is a fast-paced 3D twin-stick shooter with handcrafted stages, branching research, and increasingly crowded arenas.

Play as Nat, a scientist whose lab has been overrun by robots. Recover her equipment and fight through formations of machines that pursue, surround, bombard and cut off your movement. Different enemy combinations change how you approach each stage, while reinforcements force you to keep finding space to breathe. RMRF demands precise movement and well-timed evasion. Read incoming fire, judge narrow openings and find yourself a way out before the next wave arrives. Slipping through crossfire and pulling off a rescue without breaking stride is deeply satisfying, but it takes practice and mistakes are costly.

Nat carries her experimental blaster with six firing modes. Unlock concentrated bursts, wide spreads, automatic fire and explosive rounds, then develop each mode through its own research path. Advanced modes share an Energy supply recovered from defeated enemies, so switching weapons and collecting Energy are part of staying alive.

Rescue cats and clear stages to earn research points. Return to the lab to improve your blaster, movement, Phase Shift and rechargeable shields. The cats you bring back stay in the lab, gathering around as your run progresses. Boss fights put that equipment to work against large machines with destructible armor and individual weapon systems. Disabling a weapon can change the fight; choosing which part to attack matters.

Pure is a solo mode where purchased research and unspent points survive failed attempts. Return with stronger equipment and push further.

Arcade starts each run with fresh research and supports solo play or two-player local and online co-op.

This is my first real game and it serves as a prequel to the game I REALLY want to make, Super User. Threaded into the fast paced arcade action of RMRF is the fabric of the story that sets up the next game. Super User is a much MUCH larger project and I can't take it on without support from the community. If you like my characters and the style and tone of RMRF I think you'll really like Super User and I'd love to make it for you.
