Why Early Access?

“Happy Cats Market is a solo-developed incremental game about the joy of collecting food and making feline friends. The main adventure is playable, but I want players to help shape skill combinations, the feel of each shop and the pace of progression. Early Access lets me learn which cat abilities are fun and where progress feels frustrating, and use that feedback to develop the market.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I am aiming for approximately 6–12 months after the Early Access launch. This is an estimate, not a fixed completion deadline. The timeframe may change depending on player feedback and development and testing progress.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“For the full version, I plan to deepen the combinations of cat abilities and skills, the variety of play between shops, and progression across repeat runs and limit-break upgrades. I also plan to refine controls, explanations, visuals, audio, pixel art, localized text and stability. Specific changes and priorities will be guided by player feedback and testing.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current development version includes five shops from a bakery to a department store, click-based food gathering and chain reactions, automatic gathering by helper cats, and regular and permanent prestige skill trees. It also includes 88 cats and a cat album, 80 in-game achievements, 20-second challenges, campfire feasts, an ending minigame, repeat runs after completion and six limit-break upgrade paths. It is a single-player Windows game with local saves. Bugs are still being fixed, and skill effects, costs, achievement conditions, UI and translations are being adjusted.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I do not plan to change the base price between Early Access and the full release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Please use the Steam discussion boards to share bugs, confusing controls or explanations, and feedback on cats, skills and progression. Mentioning the shop and what you were doing helps me investigate. I plan to use this feedback when setting priorities and share major changes through Steam announcements. I cannot promise to implement every suggestion, but I would love your help in making the market a welcoming place.”

Travel from a tiny bakery through a fish market, deli and supermarket to a grand department store. Each shop has its own food, music and powerful talent, with five renovation stages that make your surroundings flourish. Meet distinctive cats through 80 in-game achievements. Pick a companion, activate their talent, and enjoy the support of your helper crew.

Admire your friends' faces and costumes up close while your helpers keep collecting in the background. Find a favorite, or discover a new one!

A feast, a fresh journey, and even bigger numbers


Dance around the nighttime campfire, earn Kindness points, and invest in permanent upgrades before setting out again. Try 20-second sharing challenges, play through the ending credits, and continue after the story with repeat journeys and six branches of limit-break upgrades.

Generative AI was used during development to create image assets, including characters, environments, items and titles, and to create background music. Selected images were adapted into the game's pixel-art assets. AI and machine translation were also used when preparing localized text. These assets are prepared in advance; the game does not generate images, music or text with AI during play.
