Why Early Access?

“WAKAPONG is built around doll-pool building, plugins, machine upgrades, and different Boss encounters. As more combinations are added, balance and pacing become difficult to judge through internal testing alone.
We want to use Early Access to see which builds are fun, which combinations are too strong or too weak, and whether the unlock pacing and Boss difficulty feel right. Player feedback will help us shape the game during development.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently expect Early Access to last around 2 to 4 months. The exact length may change depending on development progress and player feedback. We would rather leave Early Access when the core content, balance, and overall experience are ready than rush toward a fixed date.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to expand the game with more Bosses, dolls, plugins, machine upgrades, unlockable content, character stories, and meta progression.
We also plan to continue improving build balance, pacing, controls, UI, controller support, Steam features, and additional language support. Specific plans may change based on feedback during Early Access.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version includes the complete core gameplay loop: grabbing dolls, chaining them together, building your doll pool, equipping plugins, modifying dolls, upgrading the claw machine, visiting shops, and fighting Bosses.
Players can complete full Roguelike runs and play Endless Mode. The core systems are fully playable, while content variety, balance, meta progression, character stories, and some Steam-related features will continue to be expanded and improved.

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan for the Early Access price to be lower than the final release price. As more content is added and the game becomes more complete, the price may be adjusted for the full release. Any pricing changes will be communicated in advance.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We will actively follow feedback from the Steam community, including bug reports, balance issues, control feedback, and discussions about different builds and Bosses.
New dolls, plugins, machine upgrades, and other content may also be adjusted based on player feedback and gameplay data. Major updates will be shared through Steam announcements, and we also hope players will share their builds, scores, and unusual combinations with the community.”
