About This Game

Birthright is a roguelike deckbuilder about clawing your way to the throne. Each run, you climb a map of fights, markets, and strange encounters, building your deck from scratch as you go. Markets sell cards, items, upgrades, and more, and no two runs are the same.

Every unit gets one job a turn

Your units can attack or defend, never both, and each choice has a cost.

• Defenders block with their health. Every hit a defender takes shrinks it, and holding the line too long means losing the unit.

• Attackers sit out the next turn. Send a unit in and it can’t attack or defend on your following turn.

• Your units are your toolbox. Many have abilities you pay gold to use, so risk the wrong unit and you lose the ability you needed.

Outplay, don’t outdraw

You declare attacks on your turn, but they land on your opponent’s turn, after they’ve chosen how to defend. Every fight comes down to reading your opponent and out-playing them. Once the cards are down, there’s very little RNG, so skill beats luck.

Love the card play? Take your deck online and face a real opponent in 1v1 multiplayer. Online play sticks to the core cards and rules, with no run upgrades or powers, plus fun game modes to try.
