About This Game

The loser doesn't leave the game — the loser becomes the rocket.

"HOI!" is "hoi!" — the shout from Acchi Muite Hoi, the look-away pointing game every kid in Japan plays.

A giant finger. Look away... HOI!
Look the same way as the finger, and you become the rocket, launched in that direction.

But that's not the end of it.
Once you're the rocket, just hit someone. Whoever you hit is the next rocket.
That's the game.

What you need

Local versus for 2–4 players sharing one PC, plus online play with friends.
Gamepads are required for local multiplayer (one player can use the keyboard).

Streaming and videos

You're welcome to stream, record and clip HOI! — individuals and companies alike, no permission needed.
  • Monetization through platform features (YouTube, Twitch, X and others) is fine
  • Clips, shorts, let's plays and commentary are fine
  • We'd appreciate "HOI!" or "Acchi Muite Rocket" in the title or description (optional)
  • Please don't redistribute the game's assets (music, images) on their own, outside of gameplay footage
The full guidelines and a streaming kit (logo, character art) will be linked here once the official site is up.

Developer

Made by RidgeField, a solo indie studio in Japan.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Generative AI was used in the development of this game as follows.

- 3D models: the characters and the giant hand start from sketches drawn by the developer, which were cleaned up with AI image generation and then turned into 3D models with an image-to-3D AI tool. The cosmetic items (hats and so on) were generated with AI image generation from the sketch stage, then turned into 3D models the same way. Rigging, facial expressions and animation were done by hand by the developer.
- Textures and art: AI image generation was used for background textures such as the sky and sea surface, and for parts of the title screen and store artwork.
- Code: AI coding assistants were used while programming.

Nothing is generated by AI while the game is running. The rules, stages and presentation were designed by the developer.
