Two hundred and sixteen kilometres an hour with nothing to hold onto. Beat your own ghost, take five runners down the same line, or fight them over a live bomb that slows down whoever's holding it.

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“As an independent team working on this fun little game, we want to give our players the best possible experience by gathering their feedback and ideas from the very start. Your input will help us fine-tune the parkour mechanics and the level design of the maps.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect Early Access to last around 6 to 12 months, depending on player feedback and any new ideas that come up during development.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full release will be the result of everything we build together with you during Early Access. Here's what's coming:

• More maps: new playgrounds to run through, each with its own atmosphere, shortcuts and challenges, to keep every race fresh and reward those who master their lines.
• A more solid game: we'll fix as many bugs as possible and polish every detail, so the game runs as smoothly and reliably as it can.
• New game modes: new ways to play and compete, to keep the experience fresh whether you play solo or with friends.
• A level editor: build your own maps, design your own courses and let your creativity run wild.

Above all, the full release will carry the mark of our community: your feedback and ideas will shape every one of these steps.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Skyts is already fully playable, with its core gameplay in place. Here's what the Early Access version includes:

• 4 maps:
– two finished maps, Rampart Run (the ramparts of a fortress) and Dockside Dash (a container port), each with its own carefully crafted level design, traps and shortcuts;
– two test maps to get a feel for the parkour mechanics.
• 3 game modes:
– Time Trial: you against the clock, chasing your best time;
– Race: up to 6 players on the same course, one clock for everyone, with a track drawn at random each round;
– Parcel: one parcel, one burning fuse. Deliver it before it blows up, but beware: carrying it slows you down, and anyone who touches you steals it!
• Online leaderboards: compare your best times on every track with other players.
• Full parkour moveset: sprint, slide, dash and grapple, chained together to find the fastest lines.

A Custom mode is coming soon, and the game will keep growing throughout Early Access.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“No, the price of Skyts will stay the same during and after Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The whole point of this Early Access is to hear from you! We'll be actively gathering feedback, bug reports and suggestions on our Discord server to help shape the game together with you.”

About This Game

DON'T STOP

You're already going too fast to think it through. Good. Thinking is slower than you are.

The wall on your left is a floor if you commit. The gap ahead is a shortcut if you fire now. The corner is free if you go down into it and let it throw you out the other side.

And when you've already jumped, already know you're short and there's nothing left under you — burn the dash. Thirteen metres, gone in a fifth of a second, at three times the speed you were cruising at.

It doesn't leave you fast. It leaves you there. Then you're back to earning it.

TIME TRIAL — JUST YOU AND THE NUMBER

The track is yours. Nobody to race, nobody to blame.

Your best run stays behind as a ghost and sets off again every time you do — half a second ahead, doing it better, never once hesitating. Catch it. Then go make it faster and start losing to yourself all over again.

RACE — FIVE OTHER PEOPLE, ONE CLOCK

Up to six on the same line, and the clock belongs to the server, not to you.

Nothing restarts. You fall, you get up, and it's still counting — so a race isn't won by whoever never falls. It's won by whoever loses the least getting back up.

They're beside you the whole way as ghosts. You don't hear about the metre where you lost it afterwards. You watch it happen, while it happens.

PARCEL — FORTY-FIVE SECONDS, THEN IT GOES OFF

One bomb on the track. Whoever's carrying it is the slowest thing out there, and everyone behind them knows exactly where they are.

One touch and it changes hands. Hold it too long and you're the one who was holding it.

Dump it on someone. Take it back at the worst possible moment. Run it through the gate with nothing left on the fuse and hear it stop. Five bombs a match — most deliveries takes it.

The fastest runner doesn't win this one.

THE ONLY THING THAT'S FAIR IS THE TRACK

It does exactly the same thing every single run. Every laser, every drop, every second of it.

So when it goes wrong, there's nobody to blame, and you already know it. You just want to go again.
