What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Made For Mages is developed by me as a solo developer. I want to develop the game with input from the people playing it while its gameplay systems and content are still evolving. Early Access will help me understand how players experience farming, recipe discovery, workshop automation, and deliveries. I plan to use that feedback to guide gameplay changes, identify systems that need further development, and prioritize new content.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I currently anticipate approximately 12 months in Early Access. This is an estimate and may change depending on development progress and the scope of changes identified through player feedback.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“My current plans are to add more recipes and production chains, along with additional automation options that give players more ways to organize and develop their workshops.

I also plan to further develop how players discover recipes and progress through production challenges. Community feedback will help guide these changes, including which parts of the experience need more depth and which additions should take priority.

These gameplay and content additions are intended to accompany ongoing improvements to balance, usability, performance, and stability. The scope and details of the planned additions may change as development progresses.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current version includes a procedurally generated world to explore, resource gathering, farming, sealed recipes to decode, crafting, and automated production lines. Players can accept customer orders, load their truck, make deliveries, and increase their reputation.

These systems are playable, but their content and design are still being developed. Players may encounter bugs, rough edges, performance issues, and balance problems.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I currently plan to price the full release higher than the Early Access version.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Players can share suggestions, gameplay experiences, and bug reports through the Steam Community discussions. I plan to use this feedback to identify limitations in the existing systems, evaluate ideas for new content, and guide development priorities.

I am particularly interested in how players approach farming, recipe discovery, automation, and deliveries, including where they feel their options are limited or progression becomes frustrating. I plan to share development updates through Steam announcements and explain how community feedback is influencing changes to the game.”

About This Game

A small workshop. A world of magic to make.

In Made For Mages, you run the workshop behind the enchanted goods a world of mages depends on. Start with simple tools and a handful of materials. Gather ingredients, uncover recipes, craft your creations, and deliver them to the people who need them. Each completed order helps you take on something more ambitious

Build beyond the workbench

Make your first creations by hand, then expand into automated production. Place machines, organize storage, and connect belts and inserters to move materials through your workshop. Build the production lines you need to fulfill larger and more complex orders.

Explore beyond your doorstep

Every world is generated from a seed, with meadows, deserts, snowy regions, and forgotten places to discover. Gather wild plants, collect wood and ore, and search for resources that will open up new possibilities for your workshop. Back home, grow magical crops to keep your shelves and machines supplied.

Discover how the magic is made

Find sealed recipes while exploring or purchase them from vendors. Decode their sigils to learn how to make potions, enchanted tools, and curious artifacts. As your collection of recipes grows, so do the things you can create for your customers.

Make a name for your workshop

Discover clients, choose the orders you want to fulfill, and deliver the finished goods. Earn coins to invest in your business and build your reputation to gain access to new recipes and equipment. From a simple potion to an elaborate magical artifact, every commission gives your workshop a reason to grow.
