What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“As an independent studio, I need playtesting that goes far beyond my circle of friends and family. I need your feedback, your suggestions, and your keen eye for gaming, and I offer very direct and transparent communication in return.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We estimate that the game will reach its full version and leave Early Access approximately 12 months after its Early Access launch. During this time, we plan to refine the gameplay mechanics, complete the planned artwork, and gather the community’s concerns and suggestions to guide improvements. This timeframe may vary depending on development and testing.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“In Early Access, players can reach a destructive stage of the planet’s evolution: falling temperatures, human extinction, and the end of the Moon. These global events make survival increasingly difficult. The game aims to go further, towards the destruction of the Sun and a complete planetary transformation.

To make survival possible in these advanced stages, we plan to add technologies requiring advanced resources. Obtaining them would involve new facilities and the production of more complex technological materials through several stages of refining or exploration.

The main difference between Early Access and the finished game is the potential length of a run. If things go well, you make the right decisions and preserve the right resources, you may survive longer.

Survival becomes progressively harder in this game. For the full version, we aim to balance this difficulty more carefully and provide more technologies and resources to help players survive. In Early Access, the challenge is to cross the threshold of ten in-game years, with each additional year becoming exponentially harder. The full version is intended to extend that challenge, potentially allowing runs of twenty or thirty in-game years. You would see an increasingly transformed planet through advanced stages of destruction, where survival of the clan would depend on developing a series of cutting-edge technologies.

The game measures how long you can endure. For the full version, we aim to increase the feasible survival time. With certain knowledge, resources and strategies, runs could reach planetary stages that are extremely hostile to life. During development, we plan to add more planetary effects and available technologies, and broaden the range of survival strategies.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current build lets you experience the core gameplay: decision-making, clan management, settlement building, and exploration... I aim to deliver an immersive experience from day one. While systems may evolve throughout development, the game currently offers gameplay up to at least 10 in-game years, beyond which survival becomes truly daunting.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The Early Access price will be between 20% and 40% lower than the final release price.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I want to maintain a close, direct relationship with the community. Ultimately, I build this for your enjoyment, so I will always be active and listening, especially throughout Early Access as we shape this project together.”

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

Nudity is portrayed as an expression of poverty, a lack of clothing, and vulnerability to the environment. The game also depicts violence, death, and cannibalism as a way of life. It portrays the end of the world and the many faces of humanity.

About This Game

“Yo soy páramo” offers an experience of its own. Set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland, it asks you to build a settlement on the brink of the end of the world. That end is certain: there is no hope left here. Year after year, the world will change. The seasons will grow harsher, one day the sky will fall in a shower of meteorites, the Moon will perish, global storms will sweep across your little base, and the world will slowly become irretrievably lifeless. And there, on a desert of white sand, facing the darkness of the universe, the last clan on the face of the Earth will be yours.

Make decisions, think ahead, and face each new disaster, whether climatic, existential, or a legacy of the old world... If you want to see the next one, you will have to survive a little longer. Experience a game that begins calmly, giving you time to learn its workings and develop your own strategies. A game that seeks to surprise you and lead you down paths of sheer survival. How long can you hold out?

In “Yo soy páramo”, the world has forgotten. The last men and women barely scrape by. A society of wanderers has emerged, with strong philosophies that stand out and shape a world rich in lore, poverty, and forgotten technology. You can recover that technology and use it to weather the game's hardships and secure a little more time alive. A run can be very short or very long, depending on your actions, your decisions, and your strategy. What will you spend that vital resource on? Will you sell it now? And later, will you need it? Each run encourages you to explore and discover the uses of the countless things humanity created, now lying on the sand, in vast dumps, and among the ruins of the old world.

Every technology is a building for your settlement, a card to collect, a possible strategy. Some you will never see. You will be unable to afford them, give other trades priority, or sell them for a crust of bread. Others you will find by gathering knowledge, exploring the world, and overcoming challenges... A world full of technology and secrets awaits discovery. If you do not uncover them, no one ever will.

Enjoy this lovingly crafted, personal creation, full of details and secrets. Create your own story and live with your decisions. The weight of all humanity rests on your shoulders.
