About This Game

About This Game

Think back to the mahjong table you grew up around — the rattle of tiles being shuffled, the fan turning in the afternoon heat, the tea going cold because nobody wanted to get up. This is that table, rebuilt as a Chinese Mahjong game designed specifically around two-player matches.

Play a quick match against the computer whenever you like; invite a Steam friend and sit down together over the internet; or connect two Windows PCs on the same local network and play across the table.

Rather than recreate a traditional four-player table, the game uses a 64-tile wall built for faster two-player rounds. The set includes Characters, Dots and Bamboo, along with the four winds — East, South, West and North — and the three dragons: Red, Green and White.

A round ends when the wall runs out.

There is no matchmaking lobby to queue in, and no progression system standing between you and the table. Open the game, pick how you want to play, and start a match.

The Joy of Play, Kept Simple

No daily tasks. No battle pass. No shop to keep up with. This game was made for one thing: the pleasure of sitting down and playing.

Two players, sixty-four tiles, one table. The quiet click of a drawn tile, the moment a hand finally comes together, the small thrill of calling your win before your opponent does — that feeling is the same today as it was at the tables you remember.

Draw, discard, decide — and start one more round because you want to, not because something in the game is asking you to.

Play Against the Computer

Every single-player match is one-on-one against the computer.

There are 8 difficulty levels, so you can pick a gentle opponent while the rules are still settling in, and raise the challenge once they start to feel familiar.

Two-Player Multiplayer

Invite a Steam friend and play a full match across the internet. The invitation goes through your friends list, and they are at the table as soon as they accept. No extra account to create, and no third-party online service involved.

If the two of you are in the same room, the game also plays over a local network:

  • One player creates a room.

  • The host's local IP address and port are shown in-game.

  • The other player enters those details to join.

If creating a room, joining or connecting fails partway, the game returns safely to single-player rather than leaving you stuck in an unusable session.

Mahjong Gameplay

The current version supports a complete, playable two-player Mahjong loop, including:

  • Drawing and discarding tiles

  • Chi

  • Pon

  • Open Kong

  • Concealed Kong

  • Added Kong

  • Robbing a Kong

  • Ready-hand / Tenpai detection

  • Winning

  • Self-drawn wins

  • Detailed end-of-round results

When an action allows more than one valid combination, the game lists the available choices so you can decide exactly which one to use.

A Quiet Workout for the Mind

Mahjong asks you to hold a hand in your head, keep track of what has already gone round the table, and decide in a second whether to take a tile or let it pass. That is a lot of small, steady thinking — and that is precisely the sort of thinking that keeps a mind busy.

We are not going to make any grand claims about what that does for you. That is not our place, and it is not why the game was built. But players of every age tell us the same thing: a few rounds in, the head feels a little more awake than it did before.

Friendly to New Players

You do not need to be an experienced Mahjong player to begin.

The game includes a basic tutorial, plus contextual prompts and guidance for common actions such as drawing and playing tiles.

A tile-reading aid is also available, so hands stay easier to follow while you are still learning.

Sound and Table Customization

The game includes:

  • Background music

  • Game sound effects

  • Separate music and sound-effect volume controls

  • Multiple table appearances

These options are there to make longer sessions more comfortable, and to let you set the table up the way you prefer.

Languages

The current version supports:

  • Simplified Chinese

  • English

Round results and other important match information are available in both languages.

Mahjong for Entertainment Only

This game is purely a digital Mahjong game.

It does not include:

  • Real-money gambling

  • Cash withdrawals

  • Paid gambling chips

  • Currency that can be exchanged for real money

  • Real-world rewards tied to match results

Everything that happens at the table exists only within the game.

Supported Platform

The current version supports:

Windows 64-bit
